If I haven't caught it from the tube after Wembley I'll be very surprised, it was carnage lol

Glad I avoided the tube and got the train from Wembley instead

I was asked for my vaccination proof at Wembley too, but that was over an hour before kick off. Everyone who was going in at that time were being asked.

Not heard anything about this weekend's game though so I assume it will be as per the Villarreal game.

I was asked for mine and so was all the people in the lengthy queue before me

Strange. We were in queues as well and expecting to have to show ours but soon realised that everyone was just being waved through, we went in around 4.30

I would say you were in a tiny percentile that got checked, I didn't see anyone checking at all, you're the first person I've heard say they got asked for anything

My covid pass was checked and my son was stopped and made to show his test result ok his phone. Stewards checking for everyone when we went through by entrance M?

Our group went up steps from Wembley Way at around 4.30 on Saturday and everyone was asked to show Covid pass/negative test at bottom of steps

The trains are likely to be a bigger issue. They are usually rammed to and from Oakham on the Peterborough line.

Same for the Sileby/ Syston train, standing room only most Saturdays in the good old days.

Are masks compulsory on public transport?

Only Compulsory in London anywhere else it is up to the transport provider to set their own rules

It was mental, I thought the tube was fully packed, and then another 10-15 lads came on, it was carnage!

Meant to be compulsory but I don't think it's legally enforced, there were hardly any with masks on on Saturday.

I saw more wearing them from Leicester to London then on the tubes tbf.

I’m glad I had covid last month, I assume you can’t get the same variant twice?

You can. Delta/Johnson variant more 46% chance of reinfection than alpha variant, but still a relatively small chance. You should still have some immunity if you only had it a month ago.

I am NOT an expert. I'd wear a mask to be on the safe side.

From Monday 19 July 2021 in England, you will no longer be required by law to wear a face covering. Train operators in England will be implementing the government’s new guidance and expecting customers to wear a face covering in crowded spaces, out of respect for others, so please bring one to wear unless you are exempt.

If you are travelling to or within Wales, Scotland or on any TfL (Transport for London) service it is mandatory to wear a face covering

I was in L and everyone going in around same time as me was being checked for a test or a Covid pass.

Appears stewards were wary of stopping large numbers at 4:30 to avoid any missing the start.

As someone who has been isolating since March 2020 and visited my first shop/supermarket last week I find this all a bit worrying. I hope I haven't wasted the last 15months only to catch it due to the shambolic instructions/controls of the government, FA, PL and LCFC.

Honestly it's sad really. But aswell as the club and FA, some fellow fans just don't help things, I've heard so much of 'I didn't even bother taking a test' or just change the date of a previous test etc. Just pure selfishness. How hard is it to take a test!? Take a couple of mins max. They are provided free of charge and could potentially help save lives. When I read some of the comments I'm literally like

I know what you mean, even though I was one of the many to fiddle the tests.

It's more a case of highlighting the absurdity rather than a wanton disregard for public safety (in my own case, I regged myself as negative rhursday pre match without ever taking a test. However, on the Saturday, I actually took the test as the result given is more current and relevant, albeit not registered)

That said, the old dears I see in the supermarket wearing.masks aren't doing it for my protection. They think (wrongly) they are protecting themselves from the likes of non mask wearers like me. Point being, even many mask wearers are doing it out of selfishness and not any kind of moral duty.  We are all to an extent selfish.

I got the train to & from Wembley/Marylebone which was virtually empty in both directions

I don’t think you can use this situation as a general rule I was in London Friday to Sunday traveled on the tube quite a lot over the 3 days and it was rare to see someone not wearing a mask

Premier League: Covid-19 status spot-checks introduced for first games of season

The 2021-22 Premier League season begins with Brentford v Arsenal on Friday

Premier League fans will face random spot-checks of their Covid-19 status at grounds in the first few matchdays of the season, the league says.

The top flight announced protocols for the new season, saying fans must be prepared to prove they are fully vaccinated or have had a negative lateral flow test in the last 48 hours.

The league is preparing in case it becomes mandatory for all fans to have their coronavirus status checked.

The 2021/2022 season begins on Friday.

Brentford host Arsenal at 20:00 BST in the opening game.

Fans will be able to show their Covid-19 status using the NHS Covid pass through the NHS app or website.

The league said it "is working with clubs to introduce Covid-19 status checks in a staged way so there is the least disruption and maximum safety possible".

It added that fans would have to comply with a "supporter code of conduct", which includes wearing masks indoors, avoiding close contact with people they do not know and following one-way signage around stadiums.

Capacity limits were lifted by the government on 19 July but are now decided at local level, and it is still uncertain whether proof of vaccination will be required from the end of September.

Chelsea were the first club to say proof of vaccination or a recent negative test would be needed to enter its ground this season.

It would be nice for the club to come out and say that everybody needs to test then, no point doing random checks if no one is aware they have to test.

And folk would rightly boot off if this was brought in without the club highlighting it.

I am excited but apprehensive about the King Power on Saturday.

I am double vaccinated and coming with my 14 yr old.

What do I need to know about Covid protocols?

won’t get here in time but if you want a proof you’re double vaccinated for to this Uk.GOV website where you can get a hard copy of your vaccinations that will be accepted for any proof needed.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-pass

If you’re still apprehensive about large crowds just continue to wear your mask, I’m sure that they will need proof of a lateral flow test but you can pick them up at a pharmacy.

And just go and Enjoy the Game it was great to be back V DirtyReal last Wednesday at that Amazing stadium and to see the crowds back !

So proof of vaccine through a website? Can you not just produce the card that you are given when you are vaccinated that shows your vaccine batch numbers?

Depends on the venue, I’ve been to a few ‘mass events’ now since the rules relaxed and quite a few explicitly say that the vaccine card will not be accepted.
