Seeing Demari Gray playing for a prem club on MOTD is really messing with my head

I didn't realise it had happened. Thought he looked decent.

Could this be something that we could do @Mark?

A true representation from the fans.

I'm happy to write a rough copy that could be edited by everyone.

I like this idea. I think FT is a far more broad representation of Leicester supporters than wheeling out Cliff Ginetta every time someone needs a comment (as an aside, saw him in the 1884 bar before the game sat in the bar, arms folded and scowling at anyone outside his inner circle)

Shearer and Wright are a good pairing, would like to see them throughout the season but we'll probably have to put up with Jenas/Murphy/Keown.

Personally don’t get all the hate on here for Jenas and Murphy.

Keoen, yes is a bit of a borefest.

****ing hell can we start this thread again? Just seems like a bunch of post pub chat lol

Never really seen the point of this thread to be fair. Just do a weekly running order post in the Premier League thread and keep the chat going about the games in there.

I hope Wrighty forgives what happened.

I don’t think he should. I wouldn’t. But he’ll be well aware that every club has idiots, and that those particular idiots don’t define Leicester City.

Because they're incredibly dull to listen to. On any Comms or analysis Jenas is hugely bias to Spurs and doesn't add much of use. Danny Murphy has the odd moment of decent punditry followed by absolute crap

This commentator on the Watford game is horrendous.

Sounds like when they let kids have a go at commentating on a competition.

I don't care what gender you are, some female pundits, notably Alex Scott, are better than the men.

Mel Jones, the Aussie lass doing the Test match at Lords, is absolutely superb. Apart from her comments, she also has a perfect voice for broadcasting. Some people don’t. Who was that woman ITV used at the Euros? She had the dullest voice I’ve ever heard.

Connor McNamara on MOTD commentary, murdering the language:

”Brendan Rodgers is short of defenders. The latest addition is the absentee of Ryan Bertrand.”

Always liked him, always wanted to see him push on and do well.

I do hope he establishes himself but..... its Demari. Bags of flair, but what of application, focus, desire, drive .......?

And Rafa's got designs on him being a number 10!? Gonna be an interesting watch.

Did we have no other decent chances in the first half?

During the highlights of the game they didn't show anything but the goal?

And then a few Vardy chances across the game but that was it?

Very few genuine chances in the whole match, other than the goal there were a couple of snatched shots from Vardy and Tielemans long range which was an easy enough save.

women's voices don't seem suited to commentary, yes it's a controversial opinion.

it’s difficult for some women to get the pitch of their voice right in football commentary. Training and coaching  in this aspect can work. Lead rock and thrash metal vocalists need months to build up their voices and muscle memory after a break before touring.

There are some excellent female summarisers, very knowledgeable and better than many male equivalents especially ex players. However there are some, say on Sky Sports News matches who screech and that’s not pleasant .

Rafa is trying to prove something to Brendan

Precisely. Be there on ability.

Unfortunately, she doesn't have any.

I can't stress enough that it's nothing to do with gender. I'd listen to Alex Scott and Sue Smith over someone like Steve McManaman or Danny Murphy. Because they're well informed and offer decent insight.

The BBC Olympic coverage was well orchestrated with a mix of knowledgeable input too.

But she is just awful to listen to.

Ah, I was so fully behind you, but Sue Smith sounds like she heard about football 3 weeks ago, has binged a few series of MOTD and now just wants to spell the rules and simplest tactics out for people who have never seen the game before. She has sounded like that since 2003-it’s amazing she still gets work. But then so has Jonathan Pearce, so at least there’s equality for facile eejits.

Vicki Sparks is as good as her male colleagues, though her accent is bizarre and sometimes off putting.

Karen Carney is insightful, and a great co-commentator. Alex Scott is informed, eloquent and judges how much needs to be said on each point - I can’t think of a better pundit working today.

Murphy is brainwashed by the ESL failures and that all other clubs are shite. Patronising git.

Kelly Cates for me. Her Sunday 606 phone in with Ian Wright was always the most listenable. Shame it finished.
