Im not sure if many of you have sampled City hospitality, or are thinking of doing so but i thought i would share our experience of the day.

For my birthday my wife treated me to Fosse Club hospitality for the game against Wolves. We arranged train travel and taxis to be able to fully enjoy the day and was looking forward to watching a game from a different perspective.

At £400 for two it wasn't cheap and in no way was it value for money - the seats were good and would have been about £100 (for 2), leaving £300 for what was little more than a Toby carvery.

No air conditioning, in a very hot room and a QR code bar ordering system - with 300+ people in the room there was very little mobile service so we couldn't order drinks.

I understand most of the people in hospitality are from some company on a corporate function but its not a place for the true fan - we'd have been much better to have gone into town for a meal and then gone to our usual seats for the game.

Emails to the club have gone unanswered.

If you're going to a football stadium expecting decent snap and proper dining service then think again.

At 400 pounds for two people I would to be honest. I always though that was the kind of thing you did get with hospitality. At least that's what the fancy brochures make it look like! I'm surprised with the reality described.

I’ve done hospitality once at Stamford Bridge (got the tickets for free through work for the game vs Leicester) and was pretty impressed by their setup tbh. I was expecting similar at City but doesn’t sound like it is, if this is anything to go by...

For £200 a pop, even after taking out the price of the match tickets, i would be expecting a pretty high standard of food with a decent bottle of wine etc. You can get a meal at a top London restaurant for that sort of cash. I know its a whole experience thing but if you are paying top dollar you should be getting top service. Obviously not having done it myself, i cannot judge whether or not the OP's experience was typical or what their expectations are but as a club we do so much right, so we should be able to provide the best possible match day experience for this type of thing

I think you should be able to expect it for that money. Food in the concourse is one thing but anything promoted as a VIP special type experience with a price tag to match should offer something to match reasonable expectations.

Whinge, whinge, whinge at the minute… what the bloody hell did you expect?

At £400 I'd expect better than he described tbf.

To be fair, this is literally what a football forum is for…

Why shouldn’t he? I mean that’s the excuse for every poor customer experience now isn’t it?
From motorway services to chain restaurants…

There's no reason why you shoudn't expect it but there's plenty of reasons why you wouldn't. Outsourced staff from contractors, open every 14 days at most, no experience of working in that environment day after day, no consistent turnover of degradable stock. Consistent food and good service is something restaurants struggle to get right.

I was in The Gallery for the Wolves game. Apparently the club are struggling to get staff in, normally you have 1 waiter/waitress per table but they were having to manage 3 tables at once.

Piss poor, corporate hospitality is the big money spinner wrt matchday income so if the club can’t get it right they’ll be butchering an important revenue stream.

The only thing that I’ll say in their defence is it’s the first proper home game for 18 months with new staff and systems. Even  so, sounds very disappointing.
