Pliskin Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 I didn’t mind stinger. He was just a Leicester fan following his dream. But it does all seem a bit odd, he has literally vanished…. 1

I don’t listen to the matches much but always download the podcast. 2
Popular Post Jakemoore Posted 22 September 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 September 2021 Stringer can make some dickish comments at times but he loves Leicester as much as we all do and his commentary voice for goals and generally exciting moments is phenomenal. I genuinely think he’s up there with the best for building excitement through the radio and giving the listener a picture of the action which is what he’s paid to do. 13
smudger63 Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Don`t often listen to the radio Leicester commentary but after my stream kept freezing in the second half at Brighton, i put the Radio Leicester commentary on, and it was appaling, i had a better idea of what was going on with my constantly freezing stream! Been listening tonight and it`s equally as bad!
Popular Post ElusiveEd Posted 22 September 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 September 2021 You only have to listen to other local radio stations with their commentary to realise just how good Stringer is. I, for one, thank God we have him he's provided me with some seriously memorable commentary over the years. 11

It sounds like it was only a few games ago so I'm sure a lot of people who tune in occasionally are not aware he's left. Why does that bother you? Fair enough.
katieakita Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Hell of a lot worse around than Ian Stringer on local radio have a listen to Radio Derby/Nottingham and they are poor ( on a par with the teams) be careful what you wish for 2
Vardinio'sCat Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Could be family related or anything. I don't mind him that much, apart from the self indulgent bits, and he is good with Pipes and the Birch. We could definitely have worse, although obviously nigel-gate was poor. 2

Anyone know where he’s been recently too? Wasn’t on the pitch against Man City or Napoli
FoxesAreBlue Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 How do you actually get to listen to radio Leicester online? I live in Hampshire and it directs me to bbc .co.U.K. / sport commentaries but it wasn’t on there?

Anything other than the FA cup isn’t licensed to be played online unless it is through the club! 2

You can listen pre-match, post-match and previews, Monday night forum etc via the BBC Sounds app. The podcasts are from those shows. The app restricts the matchday commentaries once the game starts. I hope he’s alright. As an aside, living outside Leicestershire, the podcasts really help me keep in touch. 1
Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Would rather follow a Foxestalk match thread than listen to BBC Local Radio commentary of a game even if the commentary was from Barry Davies from beyond the grave.

justfoxes Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Isn’t he doing 5 marathons in 5 continents or something could be away for that??
5waller5 Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Great news!!! I can finally listen to Radio Leicester again! 2
enmac Posted 22 September 2021 Posted 22 September 2021 Has been no mention/explanation of his absence during the last 3 commentaries. Strange.

Popular Post Webbo Posted 22 September 2021 Popular Post Posted 22 September 2021 (edited) Much as he annoys me, I don't think it's fair to speculate. He's entitled to a private life. Edited 22 September 2021 by Webbo 5

Maybe to some it does, which is why someone’s created a thread asking. Maybe to you it doesn’t, so no idea why you’re contributing to a thread about it. Bizarre. Some people think as they have 59k posts that they are superior and ridicule other posters. He did the same to me in the Vestegaard transfer thread as I didn't rate him very much as a signing. Some people are just like that. I for one really enjoyed Stringer. I hope all is well and wish him all the best for the future. Edited 22 September 2021 by foxoffderby
