Strange regarding Pearson and the fans discontent... I have always been fully behind him, yet Rodgers who has delivered highest finishes and an FA Cup, I just cannot come to like him or the style he insists upon... Sometimes, you just don't like someone no matter what they do lol

Yes, as a manager then I think Pearson was more in the Leicester mould than Rodgers ever will be. Rodgers was a household name in management before coming here too effectively, whereas Pearson wasn't and had to do things the hard way with a lot less cash, especailly when steering us back to the second tier at the first attempt from the depths of despair in League One 13 years ago in his first spell! Then up to the Premier League in 2014, where we also somehow stayed in the end under his overall tenure - and for the first time since O'Neill took us up via the play offs in 1996 of course (without suffering immediate relegation like we unluckily did under Adams!). Also Ranieri effectively won the Prem. with Pearson's team after NP's sacking! That's why Pearson is more revered amongst the fans than Rodgers probably ever will be - despite the highest ever two league finishes in 5th (which felt rather hollow in the end due to doing the impossible of falling away from 4th place on the final day of two seasons on the bounce!) - and the FA Cup win which was also a wee bit hollow with no crowds to see it for most of the rounds and only 22k in the final, as great as though it was to finally win the thing!

Finishing midtable in the Prem. Going far in the Conference. Anything below this is an abject failure, rather than an underwhelming season.

Our progress in the Conference is incredibly important in terms of how I judge our season.

I expect us to go all out to win the Europa Conference as it's better than finishing 6th if we do.

A trophy, back in the Europa League again anyway and it'd be a class trip to Albania.

To see the season out without any end of season drama would be nice.

There is no engine in the midfield room at the moment to force a game in the guise of a Lampard, Gerrard or Scholes. Someone who can drive the entire team forward as a coordinated marauding force that strikes with purpose. Teams that win things usually have a midfield maestro or general who contributes 15+ goals a season and as many again assists. Our midfield isn't the driving striving kind of midfield so although people do quite rightly focus on the back line troubles as in need of urgent redress but without a midfield magician there is little prospect of troubling the establish hierarchy of the EPL. Tielemans will be gone in the Summer but he is too slow anyway to be the perfect midfield danger man, mind you he is probably faster than Perez.

Win the Conference and finishing 8th would be an extremely respectable end to a season plagued by injuries.

I'd be ectastic if that happened, considering where we are and that we've been blighted by injuries

For me the next 3 games are important - you would assume we'll see out the 4-1 lead over Randers with minimal difficulty so this is a chance to rotate and keep working on building the positive feel around the West Ham second half showing, the Wolves performance and the first leg tie. If we can back that up with a couple of wins over Burnley and Leeds - which we are more than capable of doing - then things will be feeling a lot better and we can look ahead to the later Conference League rounds and will have hopefully have almost climbed back into the top half to give us a position to hold or build on.

Stepping back a little, I’m hoping to see:

JJ, Ricardo, Castagne, Evans & Vardy all return to regular game time & back to their best.

Soumare to provide further signs of encouragement for next season

No more serious injuries

2 points per game average in the PL from here on

And to quote Garry Parker (just before shipping 6 at home to a then mighty Leeds), give the ECL ‘a right good go’. I’d love it I tell you, love it if we won that..,

The Leicester mould, didn't take us that next step further...

I prefer Irishman's success...

Though I do believe the dog-figher

began the kick-off.

And if we do neither? Are people still going to say 'injuries are the reason'?

Once people are back fit, does it mean they were never injured? It has been a factor of course, and even if we somehow won the league, it would still be a factor in certain portions of the season.

If we could manage to win the conference league, that would be 2 trophies, inc charity shield, and mid table, would be a good season considering the injuries which have been a complete nightmare! I would be quite happy!

The fact of the matter is wherever we end up injuries will have played their part, that is undeniable. So whether it's 6th or 16th injuries will have been a big factor.
