Sure, we're not playing good football, but equally, we're also missing three of our starting defenders (Fofana, Evans, Justin). Ndidi being out also affects us massively

 

After a couple of seasons - including our title-winning one - where we were lucky with injuries, we seem to have gone the other way in recent seasons. When did we last have a full squad to pick from? Sometime in early 2019-20? 

 

In addition to injuries, Ricardo, Barnes, Soyuncu and Maddison are out of form and Vestergaard hasn't exactly convinced yet, so there's a need for socks to be pulled up outside of injuries. 

 

We'll be ok. It's frustrating, but to call for Rodgers to go is - in my mind - ridiculous. 

Trouble is that isn't what we are seeing and hasn't been for the last 20 league games. I'd argue we are going backwards not even consolidating.

This form reminds me of the poor Finnish under Taylor and looked what happened the next season. Something isn’t right in the Squad and I don’t think it’s down to the injury’s yea they haven’t helped but Youri looks like he’s more interested in a move away Maddison has been shit since February Vestergard the Tug boat makes huth look like usain bolt.

I agree. This isn’t a season of consolidation. This team likes nothing like that of the first half of last season. The slump started after Christmas and we’ve never really recovered.

I think our best performance did just before half time when we are 2:0. Every player seems exciting at that time and hunger for another goal. After half time, fire is off. Our confidence keeps losing as time's going on. This is our problem ! We have nobody to wake us up. We have no team leader ! 

 

Youri supposed to contorl the temper but his unfortune yellow card comes at bad time. He plays poor and we keep losing ground.

The Castagne and Lookman combination was the only defence/midfield section that functioned and Castagne had a good game given who he was handling, but being ok in 25% of the pitch isn't much help. I guess we all long for our three better but injured defenders to return but in the meantime we need a better plan. Choudhury wasn't that bad but holding back and forth passes alongside Tielemans in front of Soyuncu and Vestergaard?  I had to use breathing exercises to lower my anxiety levels, and then the ball would go to the Bertrand/Barnes area and full panic sets in.

Because to lose a game where you were two up after an hour trying to find an unlikely winner is way worse than taking a draw.

He was also the only coach that never got off his arse and addressed the players/defenders throughout the game. Being a great guy and a great player doesn't make you a great coach, as many big name players have proved. Is Rodgers back room staff also lacking?

Exactly this, and should be the starting point for BR's team talk debrief. We got to do better than this, its getting to the stage where it's what some of us are expecting before a match starts, hence the, "Man U are going to destroy us comments" not a couple of mid season games when everyone is a bit tired and off pace.

BR hasn't lost the plot or lost the dressing room ,our main 3 defenders are injured  they are a massive miss for us ,keep the faith,

Looks like we ditched playing out from the back for aimlessly lumping it into midfield. Not sure which is worse… On the positive note Lookman looks very good. Does anyone know the purchase price after the loan?

Ok. When you are in this situation as a football club, you have to stop the bleeding. You have to figure out how to shore the defense. It is time to try to do that. 

 

I hate to say it, but when he is back from his hamstring, move Ndidi to CB like last season. Play Soumare in Wilf's DM slot. Would prob sit Vestergaard. Pair Wilf and Soyuncu, hopefully Justin is back soon and returns in better form than Harvey Barnes. Look to get Justin playing at CB when he returns. We have reinforcements on the way. But everything we do depends upon being able to allow a goal.or less in the majority of our matches.

 

I will say, the team I saw.play vs. Napoli has not made an appearance in the Prem this season. Have to think a lot of our turgid play stems from a lack of motivation. Boys just do not seem to be giving their all. That said, we are a good couple weeks off being in the t6 still, Ndidi at CB followed by Justin at CB may be the way to go.
