Our defence is not good but I see us as a mid table team to say we will be relegated is in my opinion an exaggeration. We’ve got too many quality players.

I didn’t say we would get relegated, I said we’d be in a relegation battle.

Id be suprised if we get into the 50s in points this year and we’ll be in and around looking over our shoulders at the absolute minimum.

We have played 8 games so far and aside from Man City and West Ham, we havnt even played a good team, arguably the other 6 are bottom half teams.

We havnt even played Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton or Villa!

I think people are going to be very suprised if they think we’ll be 100% safe and no worries, we are in a dog fight and my only hope is that January we can sign someone or get Evans Justin etc back and scramble through.

We are in trouble and I can almost guarantee that at 1 point in the season we’ll be in a position within a few points of 18th and be in a scare.

:angry:Was harvey barnes on the field and why. Substitutions were bizarre

I thought immediately that the first sub was misguided as we needed to stiffen the midfield.  Soumare fine, but for Barnes (who was powder puff), not Choudhury.

I haven’t claimed he had a good game, I just don’t think he was any worse than anyone else. Feels like some people come into games seeing what they expect to see rather than what actually happens.

He isn’t Tielemans, he’s not gonna be our playmaker. But what he does do, he did well

today. Just the way I saw it.

Sorry, I’m not saying you did but plenty on here were.

I thought he was rubbish along with pretty much everyone else

Seems pointless picking on certain players. Very few are playing well. #weallloveascapegoat.
l do agree that BR is making some bizarre selections/substitutions.

We're in a terrible patch of form but getting rid of Rodgers right now would be quite an overreaction from our owners and not the right move.

I think Rodgers approach has gone stale. This group and manager peaked with two 5th places and a cup (and two last day failures to secure CL football).

Real after the Lord Mayors show feeling. They all know they aren’t going to improve on the last two seasons, they’ve had that high now. Vardy, Evans, and Kasper retiring imminently, Youri off in the summer.

The club need to bring in someone new to reinvigorate the squad and set a new sense of direction.

Chelsea prove it can work

Cheer up lads....west ham lost to an injury time winner.

Since they hammered us in the second game of the season, we've picked up the same amount of points as them. That's the frustration- we aren't a long way behind the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa who by general consensus have had really good starts.

I can't understand why some on here have got it in for Choudhury.  He's been given hardly any minutes over the last year so you could hardly expect him to be fully fit or sharp or confident, yet thrown into a crucial role he performed very well.

You may say that's a matter of opinion, but what's a matter of fact is: 60 mins with Choudhury - 2-0 to us; 30 mins without Choudhury - 2-0 to them.  Another fact is that he stifled them fairly well down their left side, but when he comes off they score 2 goals from crosses on their left flank.

Because if we don’t win, the rules are we MUST have a scapegoat.

I hope you are wrong, but fear you are right.

Tielemans wants out because that Cup win is as good as it will get and yeah we have quite a few older established players still here that can't go on forever.

If we were going to bring someone in, it would have to be done in the same way Rodgers himself was; get them in toward the back end of the season so they can asses the squad and get preseason planned to the minute detail.

I want to say that I am extremely pro-Rodgers and really want him to turn it around here. But the shelf life for managers in the Premier League is extremely short and I don't think Top will tolerate no European football next season. If we don't get back on form soon, it will go that way for sure.

Sometimes we are out of form.... sometimes we are in form. Injury in defense obviously a factor but swings and roundabouts we'll probably end up around fifth at the end of the season.

Funny guy.

The Castagne and Lookman combination was the only defence/midfield section that functioned and Castagne had a good game given who he was handling, but being ok in 25% of the pitch isn't much help. I guess we all long for our three better but injured defenders to return but in the meantime we need a better plan. Choudhury wasn't that bad but holding back and forth passes alongside Tielemans in front of Soyuncu and Vestergaard?  I had to use breathing exercises to lower my anxiety levels, and then the ball would go to the Bertrand/Barnes area and full panic sets in.

I think James Justin us a real case of his standing improving because of the dross that’s replaced him while he’s been out injured.

Yes, he was good attacking fullback for a couple of months before he was injured and was starting to put in consistent performances but he’s not a huge player or a game changer, he’s not going to reverse our fortunes when he comes back.

Agree with your point re players getting better booth absence. It happens, as we all forget. But I genuinely think JJ was superb and very influential at the time

of his injury. I’d even say he was extremely close to getting a full cap - there weren’t many better English options at that moment. Plus his flexibility made

him a great call for the Euros.

The best goalpoacher in the Premier League. A brilliant shot-stopper. One of the best attacking full-backs in the world. SupposedlyTHE two most-sought-after young midfielders in the country and wonderful players like Soyunçu. Castagne, Fofana, Evans, Ndidi, Barnes and Iheanaco...

.... WOTS GONE WRONG???

1. Guys - vestegaard is worse than  big dan was before we bought vesti.  IMO our best CB pairing would be soy and big dan (I know col will go crazy but that's where we are).

2. further, we can not play without a holding mid.  BR took hamsa off and the roof fell in.

3. maddison was anonymous after his first 10 minutes.

4. barnes is in space but we dont use him as an out ball.

5. why does BR find it so easy nacho or not start him.  his creativity and link up is esssential.
