I’LL WRITE THIS IN CAPITALS SO EVERYONE SEES IT

MENDY IS NOT IN EITHER SQUAD

I THINK HE CAN PLAY IN THE LEAGUE CUP

I’ve just replied to a post asking if he is fit, not sure what you’re getting excited about

I hope you are wrong, but fear you are right.

Tielemans wants out because that Cup win is as good as it will get and yeah we have quite a few older established players still here that can't go on forever.

If we were going to bring someone in, it would have to be done in the same way Rodgers himself was; get them in toward the back end of the season so they can asses the squad and get preseason planned to the minute detail.

I want to say that I am extremely pro-Rodgers and really want him to turn it around here. But the shelf life for managers in the Premier League is extremely short and I don't think Top will tolerate no European football next season. If we don't get back on form soon, it will go that way for sure.

I dont think that's true.  Rodgers absolutely won't be getting the boot if we finish 7th or 8th.

The problem is, currently, we don't look like finishing anywhere near those positions.  In my opinion this season, we will do well to get 50 points with how bad its been so far.

Hamza Choudhury should never play for us again. In a game we're most were pretty bad he done his best to stand out amongst the rest as being particularly honking.

He's lower level championship AT BEST!

Pretty sure he was one of our better players?

People keep asking about mendy

they may as well ask about praet

if you’re replying to a question on his fitness then the person asking clearly doesn’t know he’s unavailable……

I've been concerned since the beginning of the season. Our play in midfield and attacking phases is slow, clumsy, innacuarate, errorstrewn.

For the last two seasons we've been quick with the ball, direct, confident, had slick play and interchange and ran with a swagger.

That's all gone now and the only a few things I can put my fingers on;

1) Bulk incoming signings

2) Fans back in stadiums.

3) Maddison not linking play between midfield and attack on right centre mid position.

4) Bertrand - we desperately need JJ back to go at LB while Castagne shifts to LB.

5) Linking full backs and wingers with creative players.

The last few years have seen our fullbacks/wingbacks/wingers move play further up the field and drag the midfield with it. But now that's not happening. Castagna has no one to go to! He would usually play to Ndidi or Perez but today he had Choudhury who always goes backwards.

No different on the left really. Bertrand isn't making runs right up the touchline and he doesnt contribute to meaningful play with Tielemans.

We need to sort out our flanks ASAP.

So to summarise, whoever wasn't playing should have been and the reason we didnt win was because Brendan subbed Choudhury who was awful and not fit enough for 90 minutes.

Lost just about every 50/50 challenge, this for me is worrying . Every team we play seem more up for it than we do . It has the feel of Puels last few months

It sounds simple to say but when you look at our next few fixtures it makes you realise that you can't get away with the last 2 results.

I think Vestergaard could look okay next to Fofana but playing alongside an out of form Soyuncu is suicide at the minute. We looked like we knew we wouldn't cope with their pace from second 1. I struggle to see how they'll keep a clean sheet.

I also hate the way we keep saying it'll come good. It doesn't just come good. Even Rodgers has adopted this kind of language. I feel like at times over the last 2 seasons we've actually been better than the tactics and invidiuals got us out of it but because it's a high profile manager he got more praise for things than he should. Not to say that was always the case. Today certainly was though.

Are those clouds falling into line?

I'm aware, I'm unsure of the decision-making to bin Mendy for Hamza.  The midfield desperately needs someone to retain possession and recycle when needed.  That's Mendy's forte.

vardy and nacho when played together have scored 36 goals in 34 games  yet brendan still decides to play just vardy bar today , all this tinkering is not helping and this must be the 50th time i have said vestergaard and bertrand were desperation signings and poor ones at that.

My mate is a saints fan and says they are a lot more solid since those 2 left they are better at the back but fked themselves up by sellings ings so now cant score lol

Because to include pappy you have to drop a different foreign player from the squad - hamza is a free entry as home grown

A pretty depressing afternoon. You know it's bad when the likes of McArthur and Milivojevic are overrunning your midfield.

Our defence is laughably bad. Their second goal would have been regarded as a bad one to concede by a Sunday league team.

But overall Palace more than deserved a point. They were quicker, slicker, pressed better and just appeared fitter and more motivated than us.

Rodgers really needs to earn his money now. A big issue is how we can fit Iheanacho into the team. I don't think 442 can work in the PL any more, as we saw today,  and we look awful in a 352. Maybe a diamond is a possibility but then we'd have no width and there is no way that Bertrand has the energy to get up and down for 90 minutes from left back.

Finally, what the hell has happened to Barnes? Looks totally bereft of confidence and very sluggish. We need our big players to step up soon because we are not too good to be dragged down into the dog fight at the bottom on current form.

Looking forward to having 2 weeks off from watching the team to be honest.

I’m just annoyed we lost on possession in the 1st and 2nd half/Overall.

I can see why Rodgers had the mardys.

Thought we were comfortable first half and had the cat in the bag at half time. Looked like Palace were playing into our hands. Mind you, was from the usual awful view you get at Selhurst Park. Couldn't believe our second half showing. Just caved in. Taking Hamza off did it for me. His passing was questionable at times but he put a real shift in today and was missed in midfield. Both their goals were scored shortly after each substitution so don't know what that says about the mess we're in regarding tactics, concentration and mentality.

I've seen those posts about Mendy as well. Not sure why Rodgers isn't picking him at least for the bench if Ndidi isn't fit.
