Recommendations for deodorant.

Leaving myself wide open to some stick here but I'll throw myself to the mercy of FTers.

 

Over the last few months my underarm deodorant has been letting me down. I've been trying various ones, even those that are supposed to offer 48,  even 72hrs protection. (Who goes that long without washing in any case?).

 

This morning I had a shower used some Nivea men Black and White roll on (the latest brand I'm trying, following a recommendation) and went off to see someone.

Under two hours later I had the embarrassing wet patches under the arms of my shirt and even detected a bit of a whiff.

 

I won't list all the brands/types I've tried but wonder if there are any that folk on here would recommend as being bomb proof. Be gentle........

I believe there some stronger ones available if you are not finding the main brands effective.  Probably worth a chat with your doctor.

The only antiperspirant I've ever found to work for me is Sure Extreme Protection roll-on. Become quite hard to get hold of though, last time I bought some from Amazon.

 

Failing that doctors can prescribe better ones.

Not being facetious but check cleanliness of armpits after shower as you might need something anti-bacterial for a while.

It's possibly the anxiety of the sweat patches appearing that's causing the issue - bit of a vicious circle really.

 

I had similar issues in my youth (20's mainly), when having to wear shirt and tie at work, so I avoided any coloured shirts and stuck to black or white shirts so that any patches were less visible. 

 

I'm on the below now - works wonders for me

Try Odaban from Amazon. Tried it once about 10 years ago and I've never had a sweat patch since. Amazing stuff. No idea what's in it but it works 🤣

I have a theory that you need to change brand every few months because the bacteria becomes resistant to a specific type when used consistently and it becomes progressively less effective.

Sure its not anxiety related.

I get proper sweat patches when I'm nervous or going to meetings etc. I always need to seek out powerful hand dryers!!!!

I think that there maybe something in that. Each time I've changed, it's worked - for a while.

Possibly, that certainly doesn't help.

 

Curiously, during that recent hot spell, I was up and down a ladder sawing branches off a tree. Got a right sweat on but no odour.

I'm a L'Oreal Men Expert advocate but recently tried Dove and it's blown it out the water

Recommend this I use it occasionally when I have something important happen as I perspire a lot when I'm nervous.

Bob Mortimer is reasonably amusing. Vic Reeves has lingered since the late 80s like body odour er, I mean, an unfunny comedian who's overstayed their welcome milking the past. 

 

I did enjoy 'The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer' at the time...sorry, make that 'Shooting Stars'.
