Covid vaccine passports.

  1. 1. Should we show proof of getting the vaccine for getting into places (pubs, football grounds, gigs, etc) or working?

It wouldn't/couldn't be policed anyway.

Went to gigs in September, you HAD to have proof of a negative test within 48 hours, or be double jabbed.

A girl looked at the steward and said "I forgot to do it."

Got let in anyway. What's the point?

Yeah as above. It's both too costly/time-consuming for places to police, and so easy to forge that its pointless checking anyway.

Was in France a couple of weeks ago and had to show vaccination proof for all indoor and organised outdoor events. Also a well respected mask policy.
Staff managed well and I didn’t see any issues. It’s basically like ticket checks so can’t see why it wouldn’t work here.

Because the British public are entitled w**kers.

I don't disagree with you, everyone should be willing to prove it, but you just know they won't.

I've always said that with Covid, it's a massive matter of trust. But there are some very untrustworthy people about.

No you should show proof of your entertainment credentials, because you are not the real Rod Hull are you? I've suspected of weeks that we have been dealing with an imposter. Besides, the real Rod Hull died in a bizarre rooftop TV aerial adjustment accident. Admit it, you're just in it for the jelly.

I am him, give me my green jelly.

If we get to a point where being jabbed makes you more than 75% less likely to pass on infection then it should be looked at properly. Until then im not sure what the point is but I feel bad for those who are vulnerable as they won’t really be able to attend busy events, especially so indoors

What's stopping the establishement adding more and more to these vaccine passports once implemented...shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants, theme parks etc.  It's a slippery slope to losing complete freedom.  Your passport won't be valid unless you have every vaccine/booster you are told to have.  Dangerous territory.

Well, in an ideal world i just want everyone vaccinated but cant make people get it if they dont want it.

If the passport is something that wont be used long term then i dont get it.

Here in Ontario the provincial government has said we have to show it but in spring 2022 they could scrap the requirement. If thats the case, whats the fecking point? Antivaxxers are just going to wait it out.

I'm vaccinated, but the idea of covid passports makes me uneasy - the idea of a Tory government having even more powers is rather unsavoury.

I get both of your points, but if some scrote doesn't take a test, because they don't want to miss out on something, it could cost a family a weeks wage, because they get it and have to stay home.

That's the best case scenario if they don't become seriously ill and pass it on to someone vulnerable.

When I got double jabbed and had my booster I was given a credit card size bit of cardboard which now has three white stickers on it showing the date of each jab and what type it was.

Is that my Covid passport?

If so, I've got no issue showing it to get into a restaurant/gig/pubs etc. (not that I go to restaurants/pubs or gigs anymore)

No that’s not it, I think you can get a paper version if you really need. But the one commonly available is on the NHS app.

It’s dead easy to use.

Also I like it because it’s a blue passport, if it was maroon I’m not sure how much support it would get.

Fvck me, Strokes, it's a bit cold to be out fishing. lol

It's not really a straightforward Yes/No question. Should there be more restrictions/hoops to jump through for unvaccinated? Absolutely. Should they be excluded? Absolutely not. For example, having unvaccinated provide a negative test as an alternative to being vaccinated.

As many have already pointed out, the policing of this is difficult and if it falls to venues/clubs/firms to do, it will either not be done or too costly for them to implement (thus increasing prices etc.).

As someone double jabbed and pretty compliant during all lockdowns, absolutely not.

As said above, costly and time consuming, it would never be implemented properly and it seems designed as a nice poll-booster for the curtain-twitchers to get behind (not saying that’s everyone who supports it necessarily, but it’s clearly the target crowd).

All it means is the establishments that follow the rules will economically hamstring themselves whilst those who don’t give a shite will benefit. I’d much rather we continue to advise using your common sense as so the issue isn’t politicised like it is in the States. You can see how much chaos it’s caused there.

Good job really, my dog ate mine, along with my wallet, credit cards and half my driving license.

To prove what exactly? It is an admitted fact  by the government and scientists that having jabs neither stops you from getting covid nor from passing it on so what is the point? you show your passport you go into the ground /  Venue and you have unknowingly contracted covid the day before any symptoms have yet shown up. No one including you is wearing a mask in the ground and you then  go in and pass it on. So I ask again what IS the point? And on your point on trust , do you realise the government has allowed the makers of the jabs to have complete legal immunity from prosecution by anyone who has had the jab if at a later date it all goes tits up?

Those goons on the gates at Saturdays match had no legal right to stand like they did in an intimidating way and ask you for any sort of proof whatso ever. but you can see what's coming a mile off, it's all about control.
