Interesting discussions and plenty of emotion amongst our fans at the moment about us either moving stadium to Toton or (less likely) redeveloping the City Ground.

Big problem with redevelopment is we’d need to ground share with someone for 2 years+ while it was done.  Notts County is the obvious candidate but only has 19k capacity.

I do remember Leicester borrowing the CG for a play off v Portsmouth once - do you think your owners would have us play at the KP on weeks when Leicester are away for a couple of years?

Surely 19k would be fine for a year or two.

Won't happen. Mainly because we have Tigers at home every fortnight.

Yep and they can't handle us both playing at home together.

Police and Council wouldn’t allow it

Toton is 15 min down the road from Pride Park anyway so I don’t see why forest don’t go the whole hog and move into pride park

I've seen a fair amount of reaction to this recently, and it seems to be a case of head or heart for your fanbase. It's understandable that the majority want to stay but at the same time, there's obviously that acknowledgement of what a new stadium does for a club in the modern era. By the way I think the reaction to your post on here has been over the top!

Theirs been fights between Forest and Leicester fans at gigs, boxing, darts, non league football to name just a few events in recent years.

Idea they could rock up here for a season is genuinely insane

Head over heart for me.  I love the CG but if necessary, we have to move.

If we do find a way to develop the site, there’s a genuine possibility IMO we approach local rivals about a temporary ground share.  Notts, Leicester and Derby supporters all hate us but all 3 clubs - like Forest - would welcome a few million quid for use of their stadium.  Leicester could most easily turn it down obvs as you’re a PL Club.

I don’t think it will happen though - I think we’ll move to a new build.

Unless we rotated one play Saturday one play Sunday and fixtures were fixed this way for the season(s) needed whilst the new ground or City Ground was redeveloped it would never happen.

Leicester City Council, Leicestershire Police and SAG Groups don't like us playing at home at the same time as the city/surrounding areas of the two grounds can't cope with the Traffic. It's actually horrific.

Something has to give with our redevelopment of the King Power and it going to 40,000 plus.

In the likely scheme of things it's a non starter.

Will be interesting to see what it’s like on Saturday. Maybe a slightly bigger crowd for Women vs Liverpool on Saturday, kicking off at same time as Tigers.

Am still annoyed they built an ugly student accommodation complex at the old ground.

If that space was empty, it would've been great to built part of the fan village on.

Still plenty of space in the car park - I've always wanted to see a scale model replica of Filbert Street as some sort of a fan village where fans can grab a drink or food and just sit in the "stands". Someone needs to pitch this to the club.

I want them to build King Power Tower on the old Filbert st car park. A 42 storey multi purpose living complex, adding some much needed height to the Leicester skyline.

If they had sense for FFP yes, but Top and Whelan how they have managed our finances?  Probably no.

Ironic you get a Stadium expansion/rebuild done quicker than us when we had 8 years or so to do it.

There should always be a lot of importance placed on the character of a stadium, which is desperately lacking at our place. However, new builds do not always have to be this way if clubs make concerted efforts to retain at least some elements of character.

Definitely. Should have been relocated, and built into the fabric of the new stadium or rebuilt as a gateway to near the stadium.

Would love to see a replica built as a gateway. Never happen though. Club have no imagination, no clue about the passion, or the need to build in the history, or what makes us tick as fans. Statues of former greats, safe standing, things to make our home a cauldron and intimidating for away fans and inspiring for the home faithful

Pre King Power, so they aren't interested

Why wouldn’t Leicestershire Police like us playing from home?

For the sheer romance of it, we should have just saved this..

Lot of upheaval for the sake of a few residents on Burnmoor Street. Would have saved a lot of man hours debating moving the Kop next to the away fans too (has anyone thought of that btw?)

Based on watching Forest at Leicester quite a few times down the years, your ground can create an atmosphere when the fans are up for it.  Bowls aren’t ‘soulless’ when everyone gets going as they keep the noise in.

Filbert Street was more intimating, in the ‘I’m not safe here’ sense.  Being next to that Kop was 90 minutes of abuse and having things thrown at us.  Then leaving was terrifying as there was basically a couple of pieces of corrugated metal separating us from all the nutters leaving. The last Forest game there I was there with my Dad, and as we left he just said ‘keep left, and run’

I dread to think how much asbestos was in that stadium when it was knocked down
