Cracking game. 3 much needed points. Great to see Ranieri get shown some love from the fans. Old man Vardy mixing it up with the young 'uns from Liverpool, second between Mane and Salah in top scorers list. It feels like he's been rested more this season with Daka and Nacho stepping up. He could keep firing them in all season.

Our defense is still a shambles.

Defence rightly getting lots of stick but I thought Soyuncu and Thomas played well. One of their goals was a pen and there was NO WAY the other should've stood! Don't think that the presence of Soumare helps out Wilf OR the defence

I really don't know what has happened to Cags. The bloke gives me little  confidence and to be honest he's a bit of a defensive bombscare at times.

Decent game I thought, against a tricky customer. First half was pretty good bar a few minor mistakes.

Second half was a case of who could adapt to the conditions better, and we managed to do that. Good three points and some confidence gained I hope.

Much needed win and good performance.
Watford defensively made it nice for us though

Wicked to see Madders and Vards on such good form

Very hard to judge given those conditions.

Would rather not have conceded two goals but Watford did have good spells.

The main thing is that we have picked up another win. That can only be a positive to the players confidence and hopefully carry that on to Southampton,  another game where we shouldn't be coming away with anything less than the three points.

Villa will be much harder I feel, but even so, a more than winnable game.

If we start to turn our form around now over the next few very winnable games, suddenly the table looks much nicer.

We're at our best recently when we keep things simple and are more direct pragmatic and dynamic. Hopefully learned that through our goals today. Ofc can't play like thag always going long for vardy but if we can adapt more based upon circumstances, ie Watfords weaknesses, and other teams weaknesses, we can get in a hot streak

Where's the lemon who said Vardy had to prove himself?

Will that do, mate?

Farrington Fox. He's had a great week hasn't he.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Difficult to read much into today due to the adverse weather conditions and the fact that I have post-match brain freeze. I was almost at pitch level and couldn't see **** all upfield. In view of this, both Schmeichel and Bachmann performed admirably. At times it was like one of those old spot the ball competitions.

Maddison has had his detractors, during and even absurdly prior to his slump in form, but today, his vision, creativity and footwork reminds us of his level of quality and his huge potential as a player. I like KDH a lot, but suggestions that he should start in his place today were ludicrous. The goal and the assists speak for themselves.

Vardy was relentless as ever. Again, the ludicrous calls for Daka to start over him on here lollollol. Even if he isn't scoring, he's continually pulling at the shoulder, peeling off, making diagonal runs which stretches the defence and allows Maddison in particular, space to operate. Two wonderful finishes.

Bloke behind me roaring obscenities at Evans when he attempted to let to ball run to Kasper - I find this so tiresome. He misjudged the pace and the bounce. If he gets injured, frankly we're ****ed. Great tackle in the second half on Sissoko was it? when he read his intentions to come inside.

Was Ndidi trying not to laugh when he came over to apologise to Söyüncü?    That diagonal yard pass form Cags, 50m yards upfield - can't recall who it found on the left - beautiful.

On the negative side, although I thought both Evans and Thomas had good games, our defence looks there for the taking against quality opposition. Watford have eight players out, are worse than us at the back, lost Dennis, yet before that, were causing us serious problems for much of the first half.

At least the shit goal music and the crappy clappers will have made a club like Watford feel welcomed and at home in a familiar tacky atmosphere today.

I'll give credit to Brendan on this one, I like that he didn't use Daka or Kelechi even towards the end.

Keep the players who are fully match warm and up to speed out there and save them both for midweek and give Vards a rest during the week

I doubt Vardy will start the next game then considering he ran his legs off today and in the snow as well. Which is a shame

Beautiful win on a beautiful day in Lestah!

:colder:

Don't you mean Le-ice-ster? Btw, CR's first match at the KP in charge of both Watford and City have both been 4-2 home wins.

I thought I was watching 100m relay practice instead of a football match. Where is the ball!?

Don't understand why they've stopped using orange balls. They were common enough in the 60s.

Someone ACTUALLY said that Vardy needs to prove himself?

BR has rightly taken a significant amount of flak on here but he deserves praise for his decision to continue to rest Vardy in the UEL. Vardy was brilliant again today. The man is a machine and a footballing god. What a player.

....in regards to that, it is not a great piece of man management to give Daka playing time to keep him sharp!!!

An absolutely no brainer in that respect.

Maddison and Vardy on fire. Barnes and Lookman decent, too.

It's a start, but it looked like being more of the same until they gifted us the first. Continued to look shaky defensively.

We need to find a way to slow games down when it benefits us. Not when we need to find a goal.

Thankfully they were as bad defensively as we've been of late, and some of our attacking players were unplayable. That won't always be the case.

Good win. We'll end up finishing a place or two higher or lower than 10th as our attacking quality is cancelled out by defensive shortcomings.
