Nigeria have Tunisia in last 16 on 23 January. Tunisia, despite finishing 3rd in their group, are higher than Nigeria in the FIFA rankings so could be a possibility that we get Wilf and Kel back sooner than we feared....

Am I the only one who thinks it was negligent of Arsenal to name Partey on the bench tonight, and then bring him on after he only played played Ghana, in Cameroon, 2 days ago. Bizarre!

They may be higher in fifa rankings but on paper Nigeria are miles better. But football in Africa certainly isn't a foregone conclusion and anyone seems to beat anyone. There has got to be a lot of bribery, corruption and dodgy betting going on over there.

It’s been said before on the thread but I think there’s merit in losing them for a couple of extra games and having them come back buoyed and confident rather than deflated and with a nation on their back

Basically Forest is the only other game they'd miss. If they get to the semis, then they miss it as there's a third place play-off meaning they're out there for the duration. Obviously if they get knocked out before then, they're back for it.

 

I wouldn't be as fussed if it wasn't Forest. We need them back. Really hope Tunisia hold on.
