Ghana have some handy players - could do well in the tournament

I’m hoping it’s either Ghana or Nigeria that go far and not both. Entirely possible that’s the final and we’re without players for 4 games though lol

I know Nigeria are play Salah's Egypt tomorrow which might be a match to decide who comes top in their group.

Oh our African boyz luv em to bits. :crylaugh:  I'm so glad their having a blast at the AFCON. This is a big deal no matter what our biases are about them preferably playing in the premier league. It's a different ball game. I'll be tuning into Nigeria V Egypt. Should be a cracking game!

What's the rules on players returning?

Do they have to have a bit of a break before returning to club games?

Don't think so. Surely that'd be completely ridiculous. Think it just applies for summer tournaments cos they're supposed to be on holiday then. Where as this is at a time when they'd be playing games anyway.

We'd only have an issue if there was quarantine restrictions on where they're going from which I assume there aren't?

Papy Mendy as expected missed Senegals opener against Zimbabwe earlier today due to Covid

Senegal won 1-0

very underwhelming from them. Lucky to get the W and not looking a good bet as tournament favs.  Good news for our guys, but possibly bad news for us

I was just looking at the Nigeria squad  who have Rangers been sucking off?

Joe Aribo, Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun all left out the squad?

Balogun isn't great but Aribo and Bassey have had good seasons so far...

Think you are forgetting the SPL is a pub league

Whatever you think of the Scottish game is beside the point, there are still good players playing there. Not that you know too much about it considering the SPL hasn't existed in almost a decade.

It's also worth noting that two of the players that I mentioned were trained in England and were quite well thought of in the academies they came through... one of them being our very own.

Aribo is in the Nigeria squad.

Bassey lost out to the starter at Porto FC.
