Really had to judge against such poor opposition but I did think we played better without him in midfield slowing things down.

Way to pull a negative out of a positive… :appl:

Not many premier league teams can take the moral high ground in respect of having squeaky clean funds or reputation, includiny us.

Granted, but Newcastle are definitely bottom of the list.

Flattering scoreline as we weren't that good. But well deserved victory with a workmanlike performance and some key moments of class. And a clean sheet. 😁

Daka, Youri, Maddison and Thomas excellent. Great effort by KDH too.

8th and 22 pts. Think that stops us being dragged into a relegation scrap.

Newcastle are gash though. They will gave to spend big. Vestergaard is available with Bertrand thrown in.

That's a bit harsh.  That's the first game this season where we've not had a huge chunk of the game where we've been beyond shit.

We were good today for a change.

Yes, there is still a lot to work on but to a man today they did a decent job.  Plus, there wasn't much passing around at the back, our play was a bit more direct.

Will be a good confidence boast that, especially with the clean sheet. Much better defending set pieces and thought Wilf being at the back actually improved us as Evans has just not been fit lately and playing through injury.

The players have clearly downed tools and want Rodgers out.

Nice to see us craft a few goals rather than being gifted them. Youri looked well amped up for this game so credit to Rodgers for having the boys motivated. Puts paid to the idiotic comments that the players have downed tools.

Easy games out the way now, the true test kicks in now.

Is Evans the problem?

I dont think he helps himself a lot of the time, getting on a bit now as well surely, and Cags looked a lot more comfortable after he'd gone off. Not sure hat the issue would be but something doesn't feel right about that partnership

A solid if unspectacular performance, I thought Luke Thomas was outstanding. KDH gives us some more balance in midfield and Youri and Madders linking up well.

Daka looked like a young Jamie Vardy.

I feel the clean sheet was more important than the 4 goals today, but that should be a spring board, some tough games coming up, with a thin squad.

Well done lads! keep moving forwards

You could see the confidence begin to flow as the game went on. So lovely to see them smiling and enjoying themselves.  As the confidence grew they worked harder for one another, the passing became better.

Well done!!

And a clean sheet 🤩

Thanks to CrossCountry trains for meaning I couldn't attend.

Didn't think we were amazing but scored some excellent goals. They were very poor.

As always, the best response is to win and do the talking on the pitch.

We’ve lost against poor opposition this season.

Huge win with the games we have coming up in what looked beforehand a tricky game, massive confidence boost, weren’t at our best but still a good performance, cracking way to round off the weekend

Much better, it’s Newcastle though so I won’t get carried away.

Defence looked shoddy with individual errors, we did defend some corners though, again hard to get carried away with “defending corners well” as it feels a bit of a Sunday league compliment. Also we’re better with Vardy on the bench, Daka is a better option for us now, with iheanacho.

For how much of a shambles our defence has been lately we kept them very quiet

Pretty much resorting to pot shots from long range, no hard saves for Kasper to amke, and the closest they actually came to scoring was Timmy's attempt

Just waiting for Eddie Howe's stock smug response of "We were the better side" that he'd roll out whenever Bournemouth lost. Psychology, kidology, call it what you like but he just comes across as a mardy prat when he does it....surely not after this one
