Everton (A)

Tottenham (H)

Norwich (H)

That's the 3 so far that we need to fit into the schedule.

Heard Rodgers say PL thought about January. For us that's not ideal considering the players missing for AFCON, but then Feb and March become filled up with our ECL games.

Perhaps first week of Feb for one of them?

ECL dates are 17/24th Feb, 10/17th March, 7/14th April, 28 Apr/5th May and then final on 25th May if we get all the way through...

Looking at free weeks to fit the games in

first week feb

first week march

Third week April

last week april

Second week may

this also takes into account us making the final of the ECL

Makes sense for the side who aren't 'responsible' for the fixture being cancelled, deciding when it gets played if they get offered certain dates.

It does but that puts us at a disadvantage with two out of our three postponed games …….

The last thing they should be doing is cramming more games so soon after clubs have gone through covid outbreaks and knock on injuries as a result. That will just add to the overload on clubs already depleted squads.

We can't play in jan.thats not fair on us. Can see us calling off the rescheduled games if there in jan lol

I wonder if we play some of the U23 in the fa cup, it means we may have to count them as part of our 14 for available players ?

I don't wanna hear any more clubs or managers crying about the schedule, most clubs at some point over Christmas have had games cancelled, there's your break, no doubt they'll be crying when all these games have to be slotted in somewhere - they do realise that, don't they?

Or you could be like Klopp crying for breaks, crying about the Christmas schedule, then when they get a game cancelled, get the break he's been demanding, go on to lose the following game and then cry if they'd have played the game that got cancelled, they'd have probably won the game they lost.

It's beyond me why we have so many international breaks, 3 within the first 3 months of the season, increasing (during a pandemic) to 3 games during the international break, there is where your fixture pile up is caused.

We need to avoid rearranging in January at all costs, due to 90% of our squad being fcked or in Cameroon. However, I fear the fa cup replay dates and 4th round Saturday will be forced upon us.

Ideally the season needs extending a week to the whit Bank holiday and fit in a midweek game too between 22nd and 29th May. Players would all still get 4 weeks off on June then for a rest before a 4 week pre season  prep

Not unless we play for a draw and win the replay. Although I can see the FA looking to scrap replays and then ask teams to play U23s if they can.

The issue with extending the season is they have to play the last set of games together so if any of the English sides get through to the EL or CL finals then that pushes the season into early June. And then FIFA will have a moan etc. I agree though, I can't see a way around it without extending the season. Simply not enough free weeks left to fit in the remaining games.

Does anyone have a count of the amount of postponed games per PL side? Guessing Spurs have the most?

Burnley missed 4.

Watford, Everton and Spurs all next with 3.

I’ve heard a lot of talk around postponing/delaying the World Cup.
that would only happen if most of the other top leagues around the world have the same level of outstanding matches as the premier league. I’m not sure what La Liga, Serie A etc is like.

Don't be surprised if a few teams ( not saying we will) will throw their kids into the FA cup match and then if they get knocked out the league games will be played them weekends

The two FA Cup replay dates will be used for sure, they will also surely look at adding an extra week on to the end of the season.

I know UEFA have this weird thing where you can’t play league games on European nights, but the PL are going to have to tell them to piss off.
Seriously how many people are going to say nah I won’t watch PSG v Real because Everton are away at Burnley on the other channel.
