This definitely was the cause of me making pizza last night.

Side note, the missus is doing veganuary so thought we'd try the vegan mozzarella.  Absolute dog s***.  I know most vegan cheese is basically coconut oil, but this one took the crown on just being textured lard.

I am doing Veganuary with my missus as well and had Jackfruit pizza from Chicago Town which was tolerable enough.

Made my own dough tonight. Here it is, about to go in the oven.

The kids and the Mrs have already had theirs as I cook one at a time.

From the reaction, I need to call myself Tomassi and open a Pizzeria.

I'll be the judge though, they've had to put up with years of the Mrs cooking lol

@Raj I just followed this recipe for the dough...

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pizza-margherita-4-easy-steps

But rolled it very, very thin.

Cooked for about 22 minutes at 200 degrees in a fan oven. Vital to oil the tray to stop it sticking and was experimenting with the 4 we made tonight, a drizzle of oil on the top after you've put your toppings on gives better results. I used chilli oil.

It's sensational. I like to think I'm a good cook, nothing majorly extravagant, but make things well. This is so simple and bloody delicious.

Definitely a staple on the meal rotation. Good for the kids to have some fun making them too.

Honestly won't buy another frozen pizza again.

Just need a pizza oven now!

@Ric Flair would be proud.

Came out looking like this.

I'm really tempted to try a Florentine pizza next. Mix some chillies in to the tomato base and crack the eggs on top.

Just get yourself a pizza stone for the oven until you do.

We use ours on the bbq to turn it into a pizza oven and you don't need oil to stop it sticking.

I can't get enough of making my own pizza at the minute, having it once a week!

Has anyone tried a stuffed crust?

@Ric Flair, I'm looking at you lol

Theoretically, if I put cheese all around the edge then folded over and tucked in the dough, would it work?

Use cheese strings

I think the cheese you tend to find in stuffed crusts tends to be blended with flour (?) to make it more stretchy and less greasy - I think if you were to just load the crust with cheese it'd be nice but the grease would seep into the base and make it a bit soggy, especially if you're not using a thick base

Edit: I don't know where I heard that but I might be talking out of my anus. @Unabomberis right though, a few recipes call for cheesestrings

I've done a Chicago style deep pan stuffed crust before, weighed about 3 stone. Absolute beast.

Cheese strings is actually a good shout or grate cheese and mix with cream cheese and roll in to thin strips and refridgerate to firm up before using.

You lot cooking these in an ooni or regular indoors oven?

Mines just in a normal fan oven on a slightly oiled baking tray.

Think I'm going to buy a pizza stone and might pick up a cheap pizza oven when Aldi/Lidl have them in.

I'd ideally kick one of the kids out and build a massive clay oven lol
