Are you not entertained ?

Disappoint to see just 5 pages. If we’d have lost, it would be at least double. Great to see senior players being senior. Other players backing that up. Then young lads equally thriving in that environment.

I am immensely proud of the club tonight. It’s a story what will largely go under the radar but a note worthy nonetheless.

Seeing the signing section with a raft of ages brilliant

It was a great watch, I enjoyed it immensely. How can you not enjoy what Brunt just did, I had no idea who he was yesterday.

The kids can only benefit from being involved, and I think it will be easier to play some of them again this season, as we will probably have to.

Incredible to think Brunt couldn’t get a game at sixth tier Gloucester last season. Towards the end he was as loving it; especially when he did that run

Brilliant result and a thoroughly enjoyable performance.

Thought all the seniors were good bar perez, in particular lookman, barnes, albrighton, maddison and hamza.

Great to see the young uns play - mcateer covers so much ground and brunt looked like a senior pro. Nice cameos for wanya and Alves too. Some decent players coming through - who's slagging off the youth setup now???

A very enjoyable game, great to see the young lads play with confidence. Brunt pinging it over to the right at one point almost brought a tear to the eye and then McAteer’s involvement in Albrighton’s goal and then that bit of trickery from Alves. Great stuff and the icing on the cake was a fantastic performance from Hamza. Never convinced with him in midfield but wow as a centre back he really impressed today, great to see the interaction with Rodgers and him at the end.

Thought he was class, really odd as brendan obviously sees something but Gloucester, villa and anyone who's watched the 23s don't.

The thing is and I understand you're playing devil's advocate and admittedly the question crossed my mind earlier, if it was a case of we drew and replays were still a thing i'd have probably sided with yes.

However, with these attitudes we're in danger of heading towards the territory of, What's the point in playing? What's the point in competing and enter competitions?

We treat our European campaigns with contempt, League Cup similar, arguably with this attitude the FA Cup the same, bemoaning the extra games it all adds (All clubs do).

I mean the League on a whole (again, regarding all teams) is arguably more devalued and has far less integrity this season than it was 2 seasons ago when Covid first hit (The season Liverpool won it).

As I said, I don't have that attitude. I said 'absolutely not' to my own semi-rhetorical question.

Was going to post something akin to this, but you've nailed it.(Which makes a change to your India Cricket stuff)🤣🤣🤣

Good result, good kids coming through so good future ahead , pro players performed well, Perez is sh1t!

No, I know, as I said the question crossed my mind earlier, I was just talking about the situation really whilst having a dig at those clubs, managers, players and fans who bemoan the schedule and added games.

Amazing result!

Ranieri was a joke signing for Watford though…

Enjoyable game, thought Brunt was superb.

Have to ask though, everyone is saying how we had only 8 senior players fit, so how come 9 started? Only VDC and Blunt in the 11. Or don't they count keepers?

Don't normally come on here to gloat, but hopefully that performance - out of position no less - will shut up Hamza's detractors for a little while.

Great performance in the circumstances. Watford were crap, but we were also very assured.

Please don't take this comment as anything other than playing devil's advocate, but....

Would it have been savvy to have lost this game?

For the record, my opinion is 'absolutely not'. I'm just interested in opinions.

Alex Fergusson used to say that winning was a habit that he wanted his teams to get into, and I'd like City to be like that. I'm still annoyed that we lost the League Cup quarterfinal against Liverpool reserves, but today was brilliant. Rodgers could have said "Just go out and enjoy yourselves but don't worry if you lose." Clearly no-one in the squad felt like that: well, apart from Perez, who didn't seem that interested.

Not long got back from the game, very impressive performance from all involved

Hamza was outstanding, looked like he has played CB all of his career, albeit against a poor Watford side but you can only play what’s in front of you and he stuck to the task brilliantly

The young lad Brunt looked decent too, nothing to really stand out but looked assured and not out of place

Lookman superb, ran his socks off and both his assists were class

Brilliant day all round, the young lads who came on did themselves proud

All the youngsters did well except for VDC. I wish the lad well and hope he makes it, but I don’t think I’ve seen him have a decent match yet. Tielemans played better than of late. Choudhury made a few mistakes but acquitted himself well otherwise.

On to the next round.

I have always wondered why VDC gets so much game time. Must be killing it in training. Needs a loan, because his cameos have been lacklustre.
