Wonder how much the likes of Chelsea pay losers like this Jacobs guy to spout this stuff on Twitter, which is clearly aimed at ramping up the pressure on smaller clubs to sell their players?

Edit - WTF, just noticed that he's allegedly a Leicester fan.

We will have to sell Wes or Maddison.......we have no choice to stay the right side of ffp.......

We do actually. But that needs clubs to buy the likes of Tielemans, Soyuncu, Iheanacho, Perez etc

Can we have a sticky at the top clarifying that Brendan is not in charge of transfer, only bizarre tactics and weird susbtitutions?

The only way Brendan would sanction the bargain move for Firmino at Liverpool was if they also agreed to sign Benteke for him...

True story.

This is not true. It's what some in the media seem to assume (as well as lots of Chelsea and Newcastle fans), but I think the club would prefer to keep Maddison and Fofana and find other ways of reducing the wage bill. Fofana's likely departure is not down to the club willingly selling him, but rather the amount of money Chelsea will chuck at us combined with Fofana's determination to go. If he was happy to stay, we wouldn't even be discussing this transfer.

What, right this second?

No no, 4 hours ago now. They've emailed it but it bounced and they've forgotten where the fax machine is. So the temp is getting the train. They should be in Leicester around about.... now!

From what I read we have 2 years to adjust to new ffp limits, we have several players out of contract next season so we don't have a need to sell madders or fofana

Oh the irony of not being able to sign players because of FFP, and the manager's ginormous salary being included in that calc.

Want new players Bren? Then take an f-ing pay cut!

Why do you say that?

The new rules arent in this season .

Next season we dont know projected are revenues yet... but we have a ton of players out of contract.

Imo this issue needs to be looked at early next year

I’ll blame the club if they decide to let him go and we can’t get a suitable replacement. That be stupid on the clubs part, if the reality is we can’t get a good replacement, letting a player go like Wes could potentially relegate the club.

We finished 8th last season with him virtually out the entire season. Calm down ffs. We're likely in for a mediocre season but we're not getting relegated.

In that case we can sign players now without others leaving :dunno: which will be offset at the end of the season with those out-of-contract leaving as free agents.

Colwill was our main target apparently, obviously that isn’t going to happen now.

Which is madness considering Chelsea’s first bid (pretty sure the only concrete bid the club commented on) was BEFORE he went out on loan to Brighton.

Surely a bit naive to not think they’d make an offer that we can’t turn down for Little Wes?

Maybe the refresh needs to start from the board down?

Some genuinely awful business decisions coming to light when consider our FFP situation.

Hmm… could explain Chelsea’s rush to get this sorted. I doubt PSG will pay more than Chelsea though.

Hum...

This is now getting more than a little worrying.

Seems Chelsea are not going away quietly on this and not ready to give up.

To be fair, we have been down before, sabotaged by all and sundry, but we get back up every time   :scarf:

Was only a matter of time anyway, ideally next year, but....

It's no different to where we were before in recent weeks then?

We know Chelsea won't give up but as long as they offer the right amount, then Fofana can leave. Anyone thinking Chelsea would give up just like that is lying to themselves.

Don't want him to leave obviously as he's probably my favourite player however if he is going to go then another club in the race is ideal.

He's off this window i've now come to terms with that.

I'm really worried that the club are going to haggle so long and they are so unprepared to take any financial risks that we are going to be left desperately short of quality at CB.

@Ric Flair Can I set you the task of giving us some options to replace Fofana?

Must adhere to the the following criteria:

- Full international Cap(s)

- Minimum 6'3" tall

- Fast

- Aggressive

- Decent distribution

- Maximum £45m

- under 25 years of age

thanks in advance
