Number 6 Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 Hopefully others remain professional too. You really hope we don't have players who see this and think they can use it to force our hand into a sale in future too. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

We’ll get rid for less than we want. It's total bollocks. He will play if he's told to play. You really think he's sat at home having an existential crisis over this? His agrent has told him this will work. If he truly wasn't happy at Leicester, he wouldn't have signed a 5 year deal without a release clause. It's all a total nonsense, call his bluff and play him on Saturday, if Chelsea don't pay up he will settle down and get on with it.

ian__marshall Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 If he has requested to be left out of the squad for tomorrow then I hope we're going to fine him the maximum allowable. So unprofessional from the kid.

Ric Flair Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 If you could have 1 of Chelsea's players (realistic) in with the deal who would you go for? I'd want Ziyech on loan for a year or Harvey Vale on a permanent. Sadly Omari Hutchinson is out of the question. 2

We have a history of holding firm (Mahrez, Maguire etc.) and still command a fee. Exactly. He will play eventually. We shouldnt accept anything less than our asking price. 4
An Sionnach Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 Poor old Jan does get a kicking on here and he is far from the best. However he does want to play for us unlike a certain young Frenchman. 2
FoxesWalk Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 We are leaving out Soumaré for the same reason, not exactly a big surprise is it?
Hitesh Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 People are forgetting this is a World Cup year and no chance Fofana will ruin his chance to play for France. We'll still get a good fee for him and Chelsea will need to put up the valuation we have for him. If not then he won't go but can't see Fofana not playing / wanting that. There will be plenty of talk with his agents and Chelsea to get this done
Philkeavo Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 (edited) 27 minutes ago, kingkisnorbo said: Massively weakens our position regarding fee. I agree. I would hold out on a point of principle and keep him now rather than let him go for a fee less than our valuation. His behaviour is unacceptable but not unexpected given he displayed similar behaviours to get a move from St Etienne. I think the difference between that situation and this is Fofana signed a long extension only a couple of months ago. It is clear his head has been well and truly turned and I believe it is more than likely Chelsea behaved inappropriately particularly behind the scenes. I have never seen so many media posts about a 'potential' signing, already agreeing terms. That may of course be speculation but the volume and consistency of details in the articles suggests foul play. I think if we cave in now, other clubs will use a similar playbook in future transfer dealings. If we hold out, the bloody so called 'big six' will still know they can't take LCFC for fools. AjcW Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 It's either going to be 0-0 or 3-3 tomorrow. Just two absolutely broken teams slogging it out to see who is worse 1
Popular Post Bryn Posted 19 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 19 August 2022 1 minute ago, kingkisnorbo said: In what way is it nonsense? He’s literally said don’t play me It's a charade. He wants to go, I am totally sure he wants to go, but you really think he refuses to play for the next year if Chelsea don't pay? How does that benefit his career? He's already missed almost a year of football with injury, you think he wants another year out on the sidelines? Not in his best interests. This is an act. It's a business move. He's trying to force the move, his agent is calculating that Leicester feel they have enough to deal with and will cave and take £60-70m. I think he's gambled wrong, I think we'll stand firm and he will get his head down and play. If he was fundamentally unhappy at Leicester, willing to scorch the earth, he doesn't sign that contract. Or he insists on a release clause. 8

Philkeavo Posted 19 August 2022 Posted 19 August 2022 The only upside to this truly depressing transfer saga is it does feel the end game is near... I just want watch the team play now.
