Can see them doing the same to us. I mean, Newcastle were crap in 14/15 and we have very very good footballers who have been massively underperforming for nearly a year…
TonyN11 Posted 26 February 2022 Posted 26 February 2022 Norwich, Watford and Leeds will finish below us. That's it but it's enough

Sunbury Fox Posted 27 February 2022 Posted 27 February 2022 One thing is for certain and that is if we really do get drawn into the relegation dogfight then this team are the least well equipped group of players imaginable to battle and scrap their way out of it.

OntarioFox Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 (edited) Was clearly going to be a mid-table season, sure seeing a couple of teams below us pick up form during our torrid run since New Year's has raised questions but fact is, other teams have had even worse runs of form and were in far greater danger than us even before tonight. I will reserve judgement until we've played each of them again, but i'd far rather have been in our position tonight than any of Brentford, Leeds or Everton, who are all in genuine danger of the drop. K1FOX Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 Relegation? Some people are deluded. If we could even defend to top 10 standard we would be absolutely flying. We were streets ahead of Burnley today 1

We were streets ahead of Burnley today ....I don't think playing 3 games in 8 days has helped Burnley, they were nowhere near the team we were expecting to be scrapping for their lives!!! West ham were impotent, Wolves were not exactly a team who were flying and had much to over power us. We seemed to have played these teams at the right time, no problems regarding going down, there seems to be a lot of very weak teams in this league.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 I think that should about do after the ‘6 pointer’ against Burnley. It wasn’t only the points, it was also about how we played… much better 👍
Popular Post Facecloth Posted 2 March 2022 Popular Post Posted 2 March 2022 I don't think I posted in this thread before, but there's nothing wrong with being aware of the situation, even though it was probably not going to happen, we were playing ourselves into a chance of it. Nobody should be ashamed about being concerned and not sure where the idea of being concerned means you aren't supporting through good times or bad. In fact I'd say though ignoring the threat could be seen as "happy clappers" who just think everything will be ok all the time. There's an article here of teams who have either improved or fell off so much after Christmas they ended up winning a league or going down from a seemingly comfortable position in midtable https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/dec/22/biggest-climbs-falls-after-christmas 4 1
Fox92 Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 "Our first win in 2022"... .yesterday was our 6th game.... yes the results were poor but don't talk as if it's 10+ games. 1
Fox92 Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 As I've stated time and time again, the teams below us are all taking points off each other. Brentford v Newcastle, at the weekend, was an example of that. People just think about us as if we lose games and all the other teams below us suddenly start winning. People go way over the top. When Rodgers gets his main players back, Vardy as an example, we'll be nowhere near this position next season. 2

No, how can I disagree when it's a fact , but you still bang on as if it's three months of losses when in reality it's only a month. It's still poor, I'm not getting away from that, but context would also be good. 2

st albans fox Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 I was getting quite concerned until second half West Ham and then we followed that up with a v competent performance against wolves two teams fighting to get into the top 6 where the performances said we should have won both games So to say we haven’t played well this year just isn’t right. 3

Agree. We put Brighton to the sword for an hour. Were the better side for most of the West Ham game and against Wolves. The only real blot over the last 6 games is the Spurs one. People see results are and too quick to assume we’ve been awful when we haven’t actually been as bad as a lot of people are making out. 9
OrielCaziado Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 Scoring when we’d used all our subs was a bonus last night. We all know what would have happened had we still had a sub to use. 😜
Popular Post BenTheFox Posted 2 March 2022 Popular Post Posted 2 March 2022 I stand by being worried about being dragged into a relegation battle. Had we lost last night, which was very possible, then we would have been just three points above Burnley, who people would still have down as being in a relegation battle. Last night was a huge weight off for the time being. 3 2
Fazzer 7 Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 Beat Leeds and we can probably relax. Go for it in the Europa conference thing. Get little Wes back and build for next season.
foxfanazer Posted 2 March 2022 Posted 2 March 2022 Nice to see us step up for a must win game. This season will still go down as a big disappointment and it'll need reviewing but at least the worst hasn't happened

Unlike Bottleham (I really hate Bottleham 🍼)
Super_horns Posted 3 March 2022 Posted 3 March 2022 You'll probably end up nearer 4th place than the bottom 3. Not many of us exactly look like putting in great runs of form at the bottom. 2 1
