I mean, that doesn't tell the whole story. 

 

No one heard what was said. It was word against word.  One claimed it happened and one claimed it didn't. He (along with every other Celtic player) defended his team mate who swore his innocence as did the Aberdeen players. 

 

It's a tough spot. If someone claimed that about Vardy for example and no one else heard it, I would fully expect Schmeichel to back him. It's kinda expected from a team captain.

It’s one thing to say you didn’t hear anything so can’t comment and another thing entirely to back him.

 

I could be wrong but I don’t recall Brown offering any kind of apology to Logan in the subsequent years, hence the fury from Aberdeen fans at Brown’s arrival last summer.

 

I get the point you’re making with Vardy and it’s a fair one but Schmeichel would have a good understanding of Vardy’s character. In this case Brown put his full support behind an alleged racist who he’d only known for a couple of months. It’d be like Schmeichel coming out and offering his unwavering support to Under if something had happened last season.

 

If he has apologised in the interim then that would change my perspective somewhat. Do you know if he ever did?

When he joined Aberdeen he spoke about his respect for Logan and that he still to this day doesn't know wether or not it was said. He said that Tonev swore to him that it didn't happen and he felt he had to back his team mate on it which again, unless you have reason to believe they are lying to you, I understand. 

 

The Under comparison is probably a fairer one but I would still expect Kasper to back him. 

 

Unless it's a case of the Prague player, where it was quite clear he done it.... Its a tough one. Someone is either racist or lying about it. Either way, it would be sh!t for the person telling the truth, especially if their pals don't believe them.

Poor chap, he's going to be bored rigid teaching players how to gently tap the ball backwards and sideways. Rodgers will probably buy him one of those Newton's cradle steel ball desk toys to watch for a couple of hours each day just to get in the mood 🤣

As someone who’s  lived in Scotland for 14 years I can perhaps offer a little more nuanced insight than some of the generic, ill informed posts thus far…..

Funny how some seem to be lambasting him for calling him out to supposedly back a racist.

But then the thread is littered with stereotypical racist comments about "Scotsmen"

I suppose the Scottish bashing is xenophobia not racism. But I take your point. All the Scottish stuff is cringey.
