I think (& Hope) that Fofana is just being rested. He's come back from a long term injury and played near on 80 minutes in what was a high tempo match against Rennes. We have sufficient alternatives available, which, for a change, offers the chance to rest players.

Castagne back in the team is a bonus. I really like Thomas but he looks very vulnerable at times and that invited unnecessary pressure on what is, quite frankly, an already inept defence.

The whole Nacho on his own frustrates me. It makes him look such a poor player, when in fact we know hes got real quality, we just don't play to his strengths. He's got absolutely 0 pace to put balls through to him but does a great job of holding the ball up and supplying that gap which should be a strike partner. It's almost like playing with 10 men, through no fault of his own.

Anyway, i'll keep my faith because that team is more than capable of turning these over at home.

No Eriksen for them could prove very important. His set plays for them have been pretty good and no need to talk about our defensive set pieces.

Hoping that Savage isn't commentating anywhere else he'll be giving his 'expert' opinion that City should be bringing on Fofana off the bench and Eriksen should've started.

Strong team.

I presume Fofana and Lookman being saved for next week. Still 10 or so games where we might see our full strength line upon the pitch. Which will be amazing.

No club matches next week

Because Thomas is knackered

Maybe but after Ricardo got a bit of game time in midweek you’d think he would likely be ready for this one

Lookman is a strange one to be honest. He was looking good and seemed to be a "BR favourite"

Screams of something going on behind the scenes or something in his contract.

There was a suggestion that Lookman was suffering from the 'illness' affecting the squad. Perhaps it's that unless he had made his feelings known about being subbed on/off vs Rennes.

Need to remember that Wes only played on Thursday because he had to, with Soyuncu out it was either that or 90mins of Vesty (who admittedly did well, but a full match mightve  been a different story...).

Soyuncu being available again makes it an easy decision to 'drop' him and give him the best chance at recovery.

These lot seem to be quite confident judging by their prediction thread on their forum. Pointing out the obvious set piece frailties and Ericsson being their saviour.

He was hooked not long after Rennes' second goal the other night, when he and Justin got rinsed in the build up. Maybe BR doesn't trust him defensively à la Ünder.

Ricardo was unwell in the week and play whilst ill, so I suppose it down to who in the best condition.

Mendy to do a job on Eriksen then. Gonna be tough...

Literally marked him out the game already - he's not even in their squad!
