What has football become when a player being booed is national news the next day. He loves to give it the big ‘i am’ so he should have come out and owned it instead of every Tom dick and Harry fighting his ‘battles’.

In reality he had 1 good season for us where we finished 9th, went to the World Cup and did well and came back with an ego that made him think he was already better than us and wanted to go. He instead signed a new 100k a week deal and an agreement he could go the next summer and he was nowhere near as good the 2nd season, again one in which we finished 9th.

 

We somehow got a world record fee for him and have gone on to win a major trophy without him whereas he's won nothing and we definitely benefitted from the deal as he doesn't suit a team that plays a high line possession based style without the protection of a back 3.

 

When you measure his time here, he achieved less than someone like Spencer Prior and we were very very fortunate that Slabhead mania and our reputation as being the go to club to recruit from led a horrendously run and lazy Man Utd in paying whatever it took to get him. He's been an abomination there and will go down as one of their biggest wastes of money ever.

Don't make this match about Maguire. He was a decent player for us and chose the opportunity to play for the club he supports. We all knew he wasn't quick enough for the elite but 

bonus for us that United were so generous. 

 

We need to be at it and firing from the off like we were against Brentford first half. Lets see what shape the players are in when they come back but I hope Fofana is fit and raring to go.

That game a few years ago where they won 1-0 from a dodgy penalty was absolute hell to watch.

 

They were shit. They spent 90 minutes assaulting Maddison and we never went for it properly.

Only in the title winning season we should have got all three points, and won it there, but we just seem to respect them too much at Old Trafford.

 

I'd love to see us win there. Aside from Arsenal and Man Utd I think I've seen us pick up points at every other big ground.

Me too. I think if we field a decent side and think we have a good chance. If Wes is fit I would start him in this one. I thought he gave everyone a lift in the Rennes game.

It’ll be like Arsenal away but worse imo. We had a good side out that day but we just didn’t threaten at all, presumably because ‘we were focusing on the Rennes game’. 
 

I don’t mind losing, it’s to be expected against these but I’d like to us actually play well. Arsenal away was so limp.

 

Ronaldo will score, he won’t be as awful as the home game.

1st half we were OK I thought, the 2nd half performance however was pathetic.

I'm not usually a big one for booing as it normally backfires on us. But have to say in the home game against these the booing really seemed to get to Maguire, right from his first touch when I think he shanked the ball out in front of L1!!
