Because I hate them and majority of my worst football memories are going to that shithole shed of a stadium.

I am totally embarrassed that Leicester City fans are doing poopoo in their pants over having to play Forest. What have we come to ?

What's worse is people wanting forest to make their season feel special after going to a European semi final this year lol

Nah, if they don't come up, we can't beat them in the league and we can't watch them being relegated.

so you don't want them promoted just in case they beat us?

I don't want them promoted because I f***ing hate them! And one of the reasons why I hate them is because they nearly always manage to do us over at least once and usually twice whenever we're in the same league. We've played them 22 times in the league since I've followed city and we've beaten them a measly 6 times and one of those resulted directly in Deeney day.  Screw playing them, little good comes of it, let them rot in the leagues below us.

Record against Forest since they were last in the Prem.

Played 18 times - 14 in the Championship, 4 Cup ties.

Won 6

Lost 5

Drawn 7

Yeah it’s really not that bad, we’ve had a few shockers no doubt but I don’t know why some are convinced we get spanked every time we play or something, we went their place and took a play-off place off them it’s not been all bad, even the 5-1 season we beat them 3-0 in the return fixture, all time we’ve beat them as much as they have us.

Plenty of reason to not want them up but worrying about them beating us isn’t one for me.

I imagine there is probably some statistical advantage to being one of the only sides in the division not to have a big rivalry?

Lesser teams coming up against their rivals with extra motive and doing better than you might expect?

Saying that, I can't think of much evidence of that off the top of my head. Everton often give Liverpool a game, but Liverpool still usually come through unscathed.

One for the stattos...

Its actually worse than it appears! 4 wins out of 14 in the Championship incl the one that led to deeney day. Also 2 of those draws involved 95th minute Forest equalisers and another in the cup when we had a better team and took about 8k to forest only managing a dull 0 0. We also couldn't beat them in a season we accumulated over a 100 points. They're a bogey team not far off Arsenal levels and we don't want them in the PL.

But in that same time they also only have 4 wins out 14 in the Championship. The one that lead to Deeney Day still isn’t a negative at all in my mind either regardless of what happened after. After that dull 0-0 we beat them 4-0 in the replay. Valid point about not beating them in a 100 point season, considering how we were often better we have struggled more than you’d expect.

I'm going to make this a yet another 2016/Spurs post, sorry...

This was one of those points thrown around by Spurs in our league winning season and to be fair I thought they had a point.

Their 'up for it' rivals are probably Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham.

But when you break it down they got 2/2/3 pts respectively against them whereas we got 4/0/4. So essentially neither team gained an advantage over Spurs' rivals.

Worse still for them, even if they got 18pts from the 6 games instead of 8, they would have finished a point behind us anyway.

I'm sorry for not fitting the tribal cliché, but I'm really not fussed.

I'm an American: We want to -- this is weird -- actually play our rivals. When Texas A&M left the Big12, the state legislature actually tried to pass a law to force them to play the University of Texas.
