Anyone can buy the Premier league Obviously Man City are excellent but when the fawning is over will the pundits and media observe the harm their dominance is causing to the integrity of the competition
Raj Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 "From the first day of preseason right until now you could feel the standards of the club slipped away." Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse with a very honest interview after saints confirmed their relegation yday. Copy and paste that for Madders saying the same thing next Monday night, as although not the captain hes taken on the mantle of our spokesman. 1
The Bear Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 That Paddypower stunt was from the other week when Man City beat them wasn't it? 2
goody2028 Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 Shame arsenal have dropped off wouldn’t have minded seeing them win it. Another boring title for the premier league 😴

foxes_rule1978 Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 Arsenal totally bottled it, I win today and they still had a chance

Sly Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 Newcastle United and maybe Chelsea will push Manchester City long term. Manchester United are slowly rebuilding as well. In a weird way, FFP actually stops Manchester being pushed as Newcastle most likely can’t spend the money to bring in a billion pounds worth of players, like they’re capable of.

Why is this? They're talked about as if they've completed football but they haven't exactly achieved much. Brighton haven’t achieved anything yet. They are a southern club so will naturally get more praise than us.
urban.spaceman Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 We might be going down but at least we never bottled the league. 3

Exactly, I think I would rather be a club that wins things and has its bad times, than one that just hangs about doing nothing, aka spurs Edited 14 May 2023 by foxes_rule1978
David Hankey Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 Considering where they were a month ago the 'Gooners' have really chucked the title away.
Sly Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 In the last Decade we’ll have achieved more than most clubs in the Premier League. De Zebre has pushed the team Potter built to another level. They’ve been incredible really. Nice to see him admitting he’ll lose the likes of McCallister and Caceido.
davieG Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 Obviously doesn't take into account the quality of those teams at the starting point.

melvinmmelvin Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 Erlinh Haaland is the football version of Jonah Lomu. Let's hope he proves less tragic...

They've nailed transfer windows recently. Haaland was obviously great business, but they did really well shipping out Sterling, Jesus, Zinchenko too.

Beachyboy Posted 14 May 2023 Posted 14 May 2023 (edited) I don't get this jealousy of Brighton. We beat Liverpool, they beat Newcastle we beat Newcastle, an Brighton beat Southampton and Man city. They are back in the CL race on the last day. I'm for anyone outside those 7 clubs taking a CL spot. Sure its unlikely, but they've made a lot of good decisions. An time will tell where they end up in 2-3 years when there best players/coaches/staff get poached (probably by Liverpool). Who can't fully compete with the money men of utd, City and Chelsea.
