I find it completely absurd that players are allowed to surround a referee en masse and yell at him and go unpunished but as soon as you touch one atom of his shirt you're banned for a million years. It's just a wild disconnect.

Don't get me wrong, he should be made an example of and he should be banned for a few more games beyond the standard 3 but it's near hypocritical to basically end his season when plenty of players are probably more abusive to officials every weekend than he actually was.

The way players treat the officials in general needs to be improved, I've always banged on about this, but giving him a 10 or so game ban for that is just dumb. Especially when Bruno Fernandes went unpunished for pretty much the same thing.

They need to start chucking the book at players. Once a pre didn’t has been set after 4 or 5 games, everyone would know where the bar is set and stop abusing and surrounding referees.

Mario Lemina got a second yellow for basically jogging over to the ref "aggressively", who had his back to him the whole time.

And Mattheus Nunes got sent off from the bench because the linesman walked backwards into him as he protested.

The refs and PGMOL make this shit up as they go along week by week, covering each others arses and punishing or protecting whoever they see fit. And they'll continue to do so with people like Fernandes (no punishment) and Mitrovic (excessive punishment) until VAR is made completely independent and out of the hands of a crooked and incompetent organisation.

Hard to believe so many people are living in a fantasy world where Spurs would go anywhere near Rodgers.

Right after they make a shock swoop for Vestergaard..

Nunes is literally outside of the technical area and is half on the pitch.

Having said that, it's not a red card and the linesman wasn't pushed.

That wasn't angry bud, he manhandled the ref which is technically (and actually in this case) assault.

Should get and entirely deserves 10 games off.

Grass roots refs must cringe when they see boneheads like Mitrovic reacting like a bar room bully.

Kids see it and naturally want to emulate the tw@t.

Result? Refs refuse to officiate and games aren't played.

Grown ups can  be passionate and committed without resorting to physical intimidation.

ASBO kids maybe…more an insult to MOST kids, who know the difference in mishandling the ref or just cursing & swearing .( which is bad enough)…The parents a different story..Though doesn’t mean I haven’t seen kids

under 11 games be stopped & ref just walked off..but isolated incidents..

Can’t stand Bruno (fart face) Fernández. Every week there is non stop petulance and constant harrassing the ref on every decision. Refs just don’t have the bottle to card him cuz he’s a manu captain. I’m sure he’s shouting all kinds of cuss words in Portuguese. Yet he keeps on getting a free pass. Go figure…

The Premier League, needs non English referees. If it wants to be the best, go and get the best.

Seen a few dodgy performances by overseas refs in Europe and at the World Cup though.

Don’t know if they are more consistent with their usage of VAR ?

Just don’t think  the officials generally have the  bottle or confidence to give out loads of cards for dissent as there would probably be hardly anyone left !

Would Mitrovic even have got a booking had he not physically man handled the ref ?

Or one’s view of extreme dissent might be different to another’s as we see with so many decisions.

We don’t know what he actually said to the ref - it was certainly aggressive but without the grab and push , only kavanagh and those who see his report know if he’d have been carded ???

I think Palace must be insane to hire a 75 year old to manage your club, lazy appointment. Hodgson part I'm sorry a little bit selfish and greedy, surely time to allow a younger coach to have a go. Hard to believe we've got a manager still managing who was managing at the same time as Brian Clough, Bill Shankly, Ron Saunders, Bobby Robson. Crazy...

Hodgson is a local man who I believe is a fan of palace

so I think its not quite as lazy as it looks

and from his perspective- he really cares and probably believes he’s the best person to keep them up m

watch him school brendan in ten days time ….

We'll have 75% possession and Palace will win 2-0, only actually entering our half twice in the full 90 minutes.

Crystal Palace would have been managed by Steve Bruce, Neil Warnock twice, Alan Pardew, Tony Pulis, Sam Allardyce and now Roy Hodgson twice. It's actually quite impressive.

What’s mad is that except for Steve Bruce and Neil Warnock first tenure, they’ve stayed in the Premier League during those appointments.

To be fair, Allardyce and Pulis were the survival specialists at the time. Pulis pulled off a miracle there.

Pulis job was outrageous! Think he took over from Holloway, another to add to the list.

Oh man...would have been a kindness for the owners to force the fans to watch them drowning kittens compared to that lot!

Thank goodness we have a dynamic, attacking and entertaining manager eh...😐
