We have had a good relationship with Chelsea (previous ownership) over the past few years.

they may be interested in continuing this and a favour here and there does no harm.  We have a squad full of assets, some of which  they may be looking to buy in the future.

Yeah that Drinkwater deal really cemented the good relationship…..

I think he'll be available on loan towards the end of August and if we're still in a shit state with in's and outs then hopefully we'll be primed to take him.

I do think we'll be one of the clubs doing the most business come transfer deadline day, which scares me as we aren't good under pressure at working multiple deals.

Bar the Silva debacle I truly cannot remember us being involved with multiple deals on deadline day Ric?

I'd say for quite a few years we've been active very early in the window and ruthlessly efficient at identifying targets and getting them over the line!

If I've missed something that backs up why your 'scared' mate I honestly would like to know what 🤷‍♂️

What is really ridiculous, imo, is the blind panic over transfers when the  window only opened  on the 10th of June, most international transfers won't be sorted / confirmed officially until July 1st and the deadline day isn't until 1st of September.

It's the 28th of June not 31st of August!

Hopefully we are waiting for a domino effect to happen, where if Chelsea get their targets they may sell Colwill. Our interest is well known from the January transfer window.

That did seem to be what Top suggested would happen with his comments at the end of the season. I think we all forget there is always a domino effect to these things.

I’ve still yet to see a compelling reason why Chelski is supposedly letting this boy go.  I mean, people are suggesting reasons but none of them make any sense.

They've got some decent CBs and they're in the market for at least two more?

Definitely gonna be a swap between Man Utd and Chelsea for who is the biggest joke club from the big 6.

An american that hasn't got a clue in charge of signings, it's gonna be a thing of beauty.

We have had a few deadline days where we were working on a number of deals and didn't get them done, which is inevitable but I'd not be confident.

To be fair we got Benkovic and Soyuncu on deadline day in 2018, so maybe I'm being harsh.

No way Chelsea strengthen us without us paying a premium. I have no idea if this kid is good enough, but it is sort of profile we should be looking at.

They sold Guehi and Tomori for very reasonable fees given their talent, anything under £25m and I'd be ALL over it.

It's whether they consider us a potential rival? They are happy to sell to lower prem or internationally for reasonable fees but I'd imagine they'll want big money to deal with us. I'm probably over-estimating us as a rival but I'd be surprised if any of the big 6 risked strengthening us.

I wasn't being critical of your point Ric I genuinely couldn't recall examples to be concerned over 👍

I'm not sure they will have that on their radar, they have lost three senior figures at the club in recent weeks, and they have a new owner who made himself sporting director.

Got a feeling they are going to change to a bit of a mad house.

They have to go into the market and buy a couple of CL quality CBs, they are going to have to fund those.

chatter on twitter that if he leaves chelsea then he would prefer Brighton

Thankfully looks to have come from another one of those twitter accounts that just spouts a load of rubbish and acts like they are ITK, like that Josh Wilson one

Was Everton related as they were apparently also interested- the point here is that there is obviously wide demand for the player.  Will he see us as offering him enough starts ??   He has seen how lamptey excelled at Brighton and ghehi at palace (both being first choice).

I think he's more likely to get starts with us than you might think. We have to accept that Evans needs to be managed carefully given his problems last season - they seem long term issues rather than small niggles.

Brighton are probably our main threat if Colwill were to leave Chelsea though. They play 3 at the back sometimes, and Colwill would easily slot in there. Arguably they need an LCB more than we do, what with Dan Burn having left in January.

Wonder how much of that had to do with Roman knowing his time was coming to a end prior to the War and sanctions, he didn't visit the Country for 3 years until October 21. During that time they scrapped the proposed redevelopment.

Chelsea don’t give a shit about their academy. James and Mount are rare cases, they’ve pissed away so much talent over the years.
