You think he'd actually prefer Hassenhuttl over Brendan Rodgers?

He’s seen livramento and Broja go there and be first choice.

if he came here he would be first cover (or possibly second)

it’s not about the coach ……

On a serious note.... we've got the 4th most highest paid manager in the EPL and he's no pulling power for young talent

How do you know this? Sounds like a fantasy to me.

If i was a young player i’d look at how he supported Madison during a tough time and when everyone lost faith in him… he stuck by him. now he is the man everyone is calling to help win the world cup.

I think if anything, this has been his greatest achievement as our manager.

Im not brendan’s biggest fan but the players like him, they’ve never once stopped playing for him imo

Think you're having a go at the wrong person

If he goes to Southampton and we've not made a serious attempt to sign him then I'll start to get extremely concerned we really don't have any financial flexibility which would be a huge concern for our future

He will be first choice at Southampton, but 3rd choice for us. The other Chelsea players who went to the Saints all got a lot of game time. So I could see why he might want to go there if it was offered. Saints also often allow buyback clauses, I'm pretty sure Livramento has one for example.

But you'd think that if we match the offer we will get him given our track record over the last 3 seasons.

Yes I'm not saying there's not a possibility that Colwill would turn us down but given he's been reported as our number 1 target for the LCB role then it would be galling if we didn't go for him if available because we can't afford £20-25m. It would be hugely alarming.

The good thing for us is although on paper it would appear he'd be 3rd choice, we tend to play a chunk of each season with a back 3 so he'd be in for those games and Evans can't stay fit for longer than a few months at a time so he'd play a hell of a lot of football anyway and we would blow Southampton out the water on wages.

I'm a quite heavy critic but I think this is true. I think he's never really lost the support of the players and there were plenty of times I thought he would do.

Maddison one peculiar for me. Was he playing through injury or what?

He had a hip injury which he really struggled with for a while (and still does to some extent I think). The fact he came through that to reach heights he'd never hit before and the waistcoat willy puller still doesn't consider him is really outrageous.

Straight swap for Cags? Well, would'ya??

Chelsea in need of an experienced CB. We like the look of Colwill. There's a deal to be explored. He'd get games with us, he wouldn't just be "3rd choice",  we'll rotate given Evans' injury record.

So, yes, sod the difference in relative values, Cags for Colwill could be a convenient deal.

Not sure we could convince Chelsea that Cags, who Brendan believes isn't good enough to play for Leicester, is good enough to play for Chelsea...
