£20m for a player with one years championship experience and Chelsea reserves… the worlds gone mad.

Not at all.  This is a highly rated kid at the start of his journey.  If we were to try to buy him in a few years time we probably couldn't afford him and he wouldn't come anyway.  This is the best way that clubs like ours can sign top players.  Buy youth, with high ceilings.

I’d pay 20 mil for Colwill in a second as long as there was no release clause.  With him, if he pans out you could sell at a huge profit in a couple of seasons.

I get the model (look at Fofana…), and hope you’re both right obviously.

This is how we can compete and it’s good to watch too. We just have to scout very wisely and make the right decisions. If we haven’t got the youth in our academy then try and get the best talent in before it is beyond our means.

Hope I’m wrong but I think he will go to palace over us. No doubt they will bid, get excepted and we won’t even be talked about again.

Feeling wanted and important is a big part of a player choosing a particular football club. If we have been chasing him since January, he will know about it, and that will count in our favour. If we can sell him our vision and assure him of a part to play in it then I'd like to think he'd choose us over Palace, who with all due respect, aren't even on our level in terms of global reputation.

Palace have two established, somewhat-young CBs ahead of him. We have Wesley and 50 year-old brittle Evans. The easier path to is through us.

I hope your right, If we put our hat in then I think we have got a chance. Honestly just don’t think we will.

Makes you wonder if he's that good a prospect why Chelsea just want rid?

Well they did get rid of Guehi and Tomori too?

And Aké, Rice, Abraham, Livramento, Lamptey

Looks like deals for Koulibaly and Ake to Chelsea are going to be done pretty soon

Apparently going to be after another centre back as well after that, but hopefully when the 2 above are in there can be some movement on Colwill

Do we actually want him or we living in dream land?

We will want him, Brendan's son represents him as well, or the agency he works for does anyway......

Don't we have to get people out of the door first?

Colwill is under 21 and home grown, no need for squad inclusion.

Said a few pages back this is the one the club really want. He’s left footed, under 21 and can be signed for a decent price. The way we’ve waited suggests to me that we’ve had convos already

I think you maybe right.  I get frustrated as anybody with a lack of transfer activity but when we sign a player, a lot of the time it comes straight out of the blue and done and dusted quickly!!  Just no original press release a few days before

...this is what Chelsea tends to do with their young players!!!

We would be silly if we chose to overlook, a potential like this.
