Had a very good season by all accounts - if we're looking for a comparison, Guehi was another Chelsea loanee who ended up signing for Palace after a good season in the Championship with Swansea, and that turned out alright. 1
Dan Posted 29 June 2022 Posted 29 June 2022 The reaction on here will be priceless if our top CB target signs for the club we're imminently taking a head of recruitment from. 2

It all hinges on Tuchel being able to guarantee him minutes next season but I honestly don't think he's going to be able to offer enough. Colwill is in the position KDH was in last summer, just returned from a really successful loan stint and now wants to break into the first team. The difference however is that over at Chelsea, they're going to sign 2 or 3 CBs this summer making it unlikely that Colwill will get the gametime he needs at this stage of his career.

I think Chelsea will have plenty of game time to offer Colwill. They haven't signed 2-3 CBs yet, and even if they do, they'll have Champions League, and increased fixture congestion (due to the world cup). He'd get more games at Southampton, assuming he starts week in and week out. I'm not sure where he'd fit in the LCFC depth chart. If i were Colwill, i probably would want to see if I could claim one of the Chelsea starting spots, and make a move in Jan (or next summer) if he doesn't.

He'd essentially be level with Evans in our depth chart, seeing how we need to keep him fit.
JimJams Posted 29 June 2022 Posted 29 June 2022 They've only got Silva, Chalobah and Sarr as genuine cb's don't they? James as a makeshift in a back 3 as they've done before. Rumours are Kounde, De ligt and Ake. They get those 3 and he's off. They don't and there might be a space for him given they play a back 3, CL and 5 subs. 3
indierich06 Posted 29 June 2022 Posted 29 June 2022 You've got to think that surely we are a bigger draw than Southampton? Will be fuming if they sign him. 2 1
