I can't see why  Chelsea , who don't really need the money, should let one of their most promising young players go. I would have thought they see him as a starter in a couple of seasons when he will still be only 22. Some on here think he could start for us already so he can't be far off the standard.

Because they cannot resist it, they often flog their academy players.

They do but Colwill is considered as promising as Mount, James, Abraham and Hudson-Odei so he will almost certainly be a keeper. The chance of him coming to us ,even on loan, is very small indeed.

3 of those you quote all went on loan, often a number of times. I do think you're right that they'll not look to sell him yet but Chelsea are a bit odd at times, they seem set to flog Broja at a time where they've got hardly any strikers.

The Chelsea hierarchy are in disarray at the moment, Petr Cech the latest to “resign”.

Todd Boehly, the consortium leader, is running everything so he might drop the odd bollock.

Worth a bid?

You love to see it.

Considering the amount of defenders they lost,  they would have to seriously not rate him to sell him to us.

Depends how much money they have to play with I guess. They already have Chalobah and Sarr as their backups. If they can make a couple of top signings then selling an academy player like Colwill will always be tempting because of (a) the pure profit on a player they've developed and (b) the strong likelihood that he'll never be as good as what they aspire to be again (PL, CL and WCC champions). If they're wrong on (b) they'll always have the money to buy him back and he'll always be tempted because of his connection to the club.

Theres always hope with chelsea. But im sure they will be a bit wiser after Guehi broke into the england side with such ease.

They literally did it with Tomori and they can get a clause in for first refuse like they have with Livramento.

We have had a good relationship with Chelsea (previous ownership) over the past few years.

they may be interested in continuing this and a favour here and there does no harm.  We have a squad full of assets, some of which  they may be looking to buy in the future.

They aren’t going to be keeping Colwill if they sign two out of Ake, De Ligt and Kounde as suggested in this article.

What a strange move. Would not have seen Ake to Chelsea at all. Very intriguing summer, this is turning out to be. Just not for us so far 🥲😅.

Hopefully we are waiting for a domino effect to happen, where if Chelsea get their targets they may sell Colwill. Our interest is well known from the January transfer window.

Another player they previously sold. It's the Chelsea way. We buy Colwill now for £15m, they can have him back for £60m in a couple of seasons.

The fee for Aké will be interesting actually if the deal does get done. They let Bournemouth have him for £20m and then Man City bought him for £41m.

Surely Ake to Chelsea would free up Malang Sarr. I would take him in an instant. LCB, can fill in at LB...

another player we’ve previously been heavily linked with… wouldn’t say no 🙏🏻

I think he'll be available on loan towards the end of August and if we're still in a shit state with in's and outs then hopefully we'll be primed to take him.

I do think we'll be one of the clubs doing the most business come transfer deadline day, which scares me as we aren't good under pressure at working multiple deals.

Our deadline day record is absolutely grim isn't it. I was thinking about it the other day. Silva, Slimani, Praet, Bennett - weren't they all deadline day?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Even so I know the first three were.

Malang Sarr isn't good enough.

Looked a bag of nerves on the few occasions I saw him play this season
