i was all in for this guy, but the fact that we would  have the guy who scored the promotion winning goal for forest would hurt

Brighton can throw the Cucarella cash straight at this. I don't see forest as an appealing option purely became a first season back in the top flight is always a precarious position. And Palace look good for bringing young players through and he gets to stay in London. Brighton and Palace are progressive sides on the right trajectory. However, none of those sides have been on our level recently and even in what many considered a poor season we finished above them all. With Evans getting on and often having spells out his opportunity to start regularly might be an easier task than getting into the Palace side as his competition there are young players with plenty of games in them.

In summary, welcome to the squad Levi.

He’s the one that the club want

He's got to be our top target. In terms of competing with the three clubs named:

Palace

Guehi and Andersen are first choice, and will be for some time so Colwill would be 3rd choice.

Brighton

Dunk, Webster, Duffy, Veltman tend to be their CB options. Could potentially slot into their side as they do play three at the back at times, so more positions available for Colwill to break into. They will also have funds from the Cucurella sale.

Forest

Worrall isn't going to be replaced. Rumours suggest they are after Niakhate (as annoying as that is), so I can't see Colwill going to them.

Leicester

Fofana and Evans first choice, with Soyuncu likely off soon. Evans can't play as many games as he used to, so needs an understudy who will probably play plenty of games next season, then take over from him long term as the first-choice LCB.

TL;DR: blue-tinted specs fully on, it's either us or Brighton if Chelsea let him go, IMHO. So it's then down to which Colwill sees as the better sporting project for his development and career.

It's the hope that kills you.

For the love of god if palace sign another decent player 😡

it could be worse… Fulham have bid for Peirera at Man United. Not saying he’s great but if they sign a Brazilian before us, I’ll be raging!

This isn't funny anymore.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve never had someone who isn’t funny anymore play for us?

I think he'll be available on loan towards the end of August and if we're still in a shit state with in's and outs then hopefully we'll be primed to take him.

I do think we'll be one of the clubs doing the most business come transfer deadline day, which scares me as we aren't good under pressure at working multiple deals.

It's a food chain thing, Chelsea aren't going to let him go until they have a couple of CB in.

I can't see why  Chelsea , who don't really need the money, should let one of their most promising young players go. I would have thought they see him as a starter in a couple of seasons when he will still be only 22. Some on here think he could start for us already so he can't be far off the standard.

Chelsea do need the money to at least attempt to comply with FFP. Their academy is a business it exists mainly for them to churn out sellable assets.
