....two clubs United would not want anywhere near their playing field!!!

Yeah i get that but the FA Cup Semi finals used to be held at the likes of  Old Trafford and Villa Park etc for years and no one ever moaned about that...

Completely stupid decision even if it benefits us.

Transport links from Leicester to the North West are terrible at the best of times.

30000 Mancs and Scousers on a Saturday Evening at a stadium where there’s no natural segregation in the area around the ground is a recipe for trouble.

Fans are going to be encouraged to use the buses provided by the clubs/The Fa, up to 100 spaces for buses have been asked to be made available

We won't be having that big home friendly the week before then, although after the damage to our season caused last year maybe that's a good thing.

It'll just be midweek instead.

Last season's (or is it still this season's) was midweek anyway. Last pre season weekend home game I remember was Borussia Monchengladbach (and that was a Friday).

Having had to get from Manchester to Leicester....it is not easy. Surprised this hasn't gone to Cardiff, Birmingham or even Sheffield.

Oh well, can't complain. Good for the club and raises the city's profile.

Well that's different.

I'd assume our home/away changing rooms are considered up to par with eachother these days? Thought the away used to be a little tighter and had a beam in the middle of it.

I reckon our away dressing room has a couple of benches, one bog which doesn't flush, a urinal full of chewing gum, and cold showers.

Lets hope it gets allocated to Liverpool

Good idea to swap it to the holders hosting it.

I don't think that would be regular thing?

It's just that this summer has a lot going on and our ground isn't hosting anything

For whatever reason it is I’m happy our stadium has been chosen. Yes it’s on the small side compared to others in the premier league. It’s great publicity IF Everything goes smoothly and I hope it does. With the way things have been going of late the last thing I wanna to see is our stadium and city getting trashed by crowd disorder. When our seating capacity finally increases these are the sort of high profile games we want to be hosting. :scarf:

Leics Police got Napoli incredibly wrong and then absolutely shit themselves for the Randers game. So the operation for this will be woefully inadequate or totally over the top

...if it really is a policy of the previous winners hosting the next Charity Shield then ok, or the Ladies game, on the same weekend!!!

I do sense that we have a bit of clout behind the scenes, where we are favoured due to Polo (Royal affiliates)  and horse racing connections, where the late Khun Vichai and Top being part of the scene. If I recall, the previous Thai King was known in Royal circles.

I hope there is nothing underhand happening here.

I'd guess pub-wise they'd try to split the city in half between east/west.

West:

Jubilee square/High street

Braunstone gate

Raw Dykes road entrance

Bede park fanzone

East:

Market square

London road

NM park fanzone

Given these are two well-supported teams in the north (ok, north-west), I'm just a little surprised they've not gone for a larger stadium in the north. If not OT, why not Leeds or even Newcastle or Sunderland?

Essentially Wembley has been double booked and there's already a match on that day.

It was put out to a number of club, one being Aston Villa, and another being West Ham.

Both of them stadiums would be better suited but for whatever reason, we have ticked the most boxes and it has been awarded to us.

Logistically,  it will be a nightmare. Think how many coaches there will be and surely as well as all the pubs being split, there will have to be 2 fan zones as well?

Great for the club but I can imagine the police are dreading it.
