Jaspa Posted 2 June Posted 2 June Had SSN on briefly for a moment. Rob Dorset tailing the England squad in sunny Miami… non-stop moaning, complained that the sprinklers were on while the players were out and that it was effecting his cameras/him, said that it’s unlike Tuchel not to have it right because he’s a perfectionist. Then starts going on about how the players need to take training easy because of previous tournaments where players got injured, dropped the old “metatarsal, Rooney, Beckham”, in there. Then he started going on about the pitches and that because viral videos are going around from the Senegal warm-up game vs. USA where the former were testing the bounce of the ball(in a stadia not even hosting a competitive game btw), that all grass fields in the North American continent were in question and that the lack of responsiveness was something they’re looking out for. Clueless, negative, entitled nonsense. Sounds like “our” media are baying for controversy and blame before we’ve even got the whole squad together.

Jaspa Posted 3 June Posted 3 June Algeria just scored an 85th minute screamer to go 1up against Netherlands in Rotterdam. Marhrezesque, but wasn't him. Warm up game. Crowd seems fairly split.

mydogzonfire Posted 3 June Posted 3 June Any Foxes fans on here who live in Boston, Mass? (Not Boston, Lincs). My son and I are going to Boston for 5 days to see the England vs Ghana match, and I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for sports bars to watch other matches while we're there, or if there's any must-see places to visit during our stay?

Ric Flair Posted 4 June Posted 4 June Quite possibly being driven by my overall apathy to football in general, rather than the combination of a watered down World Cup in time zones that aren't great for watching most games but I honestly couldn't care less about this one. Hopefully that changes nearer the time but I can't even be arsed to put Vindaloo on. 4
Popular Post boots60 Posted 4 June Popular Post Posted 4 June Looking at some of the early posts on this thread it is interesting to see the positive vibes. People were really looking forward to this World Cup. It's a shame but understandable how the majority of recent posts have been negative. This is down to 2 people, one has gone about destroying the game that I love & the other has caused havoc worldwide. Infantino & Trump. 6

I’m over for this one as well. No idea on sports bars but as far as things to do in Boston, so far I’ve got… Freedom trail walk- it’s mapped on the pavement and guides you around key historical areas/buildings. Whale watching tours- booked onto one of these and it’s about €70 I think which in the grand scheme of things isn’t too bad for the states. Salem is a short train ride away. You’ve got Quicy (I think) market which looks like it’s got a decent variety of food. I’m there from Tuesday night so I can let you know. The fan zone might be a good place to watch a game but you need to pre register to get in and even then it’s first come first serve. I’m watching USA’s first game in there, terrified of the ultras after seeing the videos this week. Edited 4 June by VLC86 1
foxfanazer Posted 4 June Posted 4 June (edited) Think I'm suffering from football fatigue, mainly due to Leicester and a drab premier league season but I'm just not excited for this one bit. I'm not a massive fan of international football anyway but usually the world cup is an exception to that. Don't really have any personalities in the England squad that I'm drawn to either and find the majority of them horribly overrated by England fans and the media Oh and Sweet Caroline and "it's coming home" posts on Facebook can fook right off too Edited 4 June by foxfanazer
TheGoldenGod Posted 4 June Posted 4 June (edited) I don't care about this either right now and think its because being a Leicester supporter has just zapped all energy out of football. The way Arsenal won the league as well hasn't exactly made a great advert for what football is currently. Also the WC times aren't conducive for fans this side of the pond to actually engage at all! Samilktray Posted 4 June Posted 4 June Personally cannot wait for the world cup, i'm sure I'll have a great time with it
Raj Posted 4 June Posted 4 June Yep normally cant wait for the WC. This can feck off. The times are crap for us and some of the teams in it even LCFC could beat. Let Trump and Infantino w*nk themselves off what a great event it will be. NEVER be an Italia90!!!

VLC86 Posted 4 June Posted 4 June Jeez, do some of you lot just bask in the misery or what 😂 Completely get most of the points raised but I’ll try to enjoy it for what it is, an international tournament displaying some of the best players in the world where England have another chance to finally win it again.
