Edmond Tapsoba & Benoit Badiashile

Edmond Tapsoba at Bayer Leverkusen has been on Leicester’s radar for a long time, while Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile is also believed to be of interest.

We were strongly linked with tapsoba before be signed for Leverkusen so it wouldn’t surprise me… I’d take either though both beasts!

I'm baffled by the fact that normally fairly credible sources are linking us to two separate Monaco players (both of which we genuinely do need) and yet we can't get a deal done for Soumaré to go there. 

 

I'm usually the first to roll my eyes at talk of swap deals because they practically never happen in football and yet people obsess over them but in this instance....

Both are really excellent players. Would prefer Badiashille out of the two, he’s more physical but is also left footed which would be perfect.

Think we had a deal in place with tapsoba, but he couldn't get a work permit before he went to leverkusen. Either player would be great though.

Fofana and Soumaré out, Badiashile and Diop in, bank whatever is left to help with an actual "rebuild" next year when all of the out of contracts leave. That'll do.

Tapsoba is very good and has done a great job at Leverkusen. He could easily cost £40m or somewhere around that price range. He'd probably be worth it though, could probably be resold again for 20m extra a few seasons later. 

 

If we sold Fofana and brought him in, that would be pretty decent business, assuming he adapts to the league.

A bit far fetched but perhaps we have a deal in principal agreed with Monaco but won’t announce anything until we have finalised negotiations for Fofana so as to not weaken our position.

This morning we released our away kit online before actually telling anyone, I think this level of planning is out of our capabilities

There were no links to CB’s which was v strange considering we had our first choice being bid on 

 

This is either lazy journalism based on the fact we were linked to tapsoba in the past and we were in negs to sell Bouba to Monaco or we are actually seriously looking to find a replacement for wes.  I mean we surely would be on the basis that Chelsea could actually bid what we have asked for - it just didnt  make sense that nothing has leaked from the other end on anyone ……

Was thinking the same as much as it pains me to say but sell Cags and Wes then bring these pair in.

At the moment, the only CB we can rely on is Evans. Fofana too if he stays and gets his head back in the game. All the other 'first-team' CBs (Cags, Vesty and Amartey) just aren't good enough. And that's so frustrating with Cags because we know he can be a monster.
