Frustrating not to get anything from that but considerably better than the first three games - not a great yardstick admittedly. At least we created chances, without Maddison, we failed to take them to our cost. Despite having ten men, Chelsea still have quality players who can hurt you, and we switched off on three occasions and got severely punished. I understand people have concerns with Ward, but I thought he was very good for us today. Was right behind him, and he made a brilliant save getting a toe to Sterling’s shot that hit the post. We’ve got to give him a chance now he’s in, chopping and changing will not do either keeper any good

The substitution at the end with Ndidi coming on was bizarre to say the least.

Tielemans was injured I thought.

Well I actually thought that’s the best we’ve played in about 12 months.

I know we lost, and I know they had 10 men, but at least we showed attacking intent (unlike Roma away) at least we moved the ball quickly, at least we were easy on the eye during those times. We actually looked good for large periods, not the usual insomnia curing pass fest that we serve up. We might’ve been bad today in peoples eye, but fcuk me it was a hell of a lot better than the usual pile of w*nk that people on here seem to perversely enjoy.

Obviously we conceded twice to a side with 10 men, but today was proof that another manager will be able to get these very capable players playing much closer to the standard we expect.

Off you trot Brendan

This is basically entirely true.

So much easier to play under no pressure, when being 2-0.

Lack of balls to take the game by the scruff of the neck at 0-0

To be fair, we had one and a half glorious chances before half time (Vardy dragging wide and Castagne).

We didn't dominate, but let's not forget the quality of the opposition.

Truly disappointing we didn't get something, which I think is primarily down to a lack of confidence and quality. Missing to a lesser extent Schmeichel, Ricardo and to a larger extent Fofana and Maddison crippled us.

Not a single word about us on MotD. It's as if everyone's taken a vow of silence to protect Brendan 😏

No. You're not allowed to use the Sh1t word on the BBC

This team is in serious danger of going down

It is if Rodgers remains in charge!

The players, however are good enough.

I like this post. Balanced and considered. Unlike so many others that react with emotion rather than thought, which is understandable but not necessarily accurate.

Seems confused in here between a chink of light and Brendan is a w@nker and has to go.

We all know we’ve got a capable squad. We have. It’s a mid table squad all day long.

However we are crippled by a manager who is either useless - I’m not sure he really is - or who has lost his mojo. Either way he needs to go NOW.

Reading this I can sort of understand why the majority of other clubs fans would like us to get relegated. So many people have lost the plot. We’ve punched for a few seasons and now it’s time to realise who we really are.  We are merely West Brom, Sunderland, West Ham , Derby, Reading, Wolves etc with one difference. That was we made the most of our top form.  We won trophies. I enjoyed the success and I’ll enjoy the good times again when we get relegated and ultimately come back up because basically that is who we are. A team who will yo yo in the top two divisions.

Regardless of whether he was injured or not, surely the choice of substitution was very odd to say the least.

If you have minutes to go and are chasing a last ditch goal, whilst accepting his height, why bring Ndidi on who is hardly a goal machine from set peices or open play. Yet we leave a tall striker like Daka on the bench?

Hard to argue with that

You'd feature well in a Dicken's novel

If you can’t go and kill a team who has 10 men for an hour, you’re terrible. We are terrible. Rodgers needs to get ****ed off and we need someone who can get them going.

Rodgers just confirmed the Wilf for Youri sub was tactical.

Absolute melt.

At this point I'm now absolutely certain he wants the sack.

We need to end this now. This is going to get depressingly ugly.

sad part is that before the goal Sterling was probably the worst player on the pitch

No he always looked like he was going to do what he did. Actually a few seconds before the first goal I was thinking that he was going to do exactly what he did and hoped Amartey would close him down. Amartey didn’t and the rest was history.

Just because it has been like that before doesn't mean we have to settle for it now.
