Just because it has been like that before doesn't mean we have to settle for it now.

I sort of think you do. There is a natural order as it is and the vast money at the top just enables that.

Well thankfully the people running the club don't feel the same. The investment behind the scenes isn't something a yo yo club does on the scale we have done it.

Why shouldn't we have ambition? :dunno:

It's just crap.  I genuinely can't remember the last game I saw where I actually thought we tore a team a new one.  Can anyone actually remember the last time we put in a performance?

Brendan Rodgers is insane.  Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome is the very definition of insanity.

Nothing will change until he is gone.  The question is, what does top actually want to achieve at Leicester anymore.  Because this whole scenario is a car crash in slow motion which we can all see but the guy who can minimise the damage, is letting it play out.  What the **** is going on at our club?

Top is an unknown quantity who has automatically become the figurehead of the club. He's not a clone of Vichai and we'd be mistaken to ascribe Vichai's qualities to him. We have to remember that he's part of a board where consensus is necessary in order to enact the big decisions.

Rodgers was seen as a coup for us and given a contract that reflected more wishful thinking than business acumen. Every club has a list of 'failures' at manager level - it takes huge money to buy a 100% certainty for a manager - even Guardiola hasn't produced the ultimate prize for Man City. Rodgers wanted a blue chip contract and LCFC gave it to him rather than finding a up-and-coming guy to entrust the position to.

I suspect Top wanted to continue his father's infrastructure expansion - taking out significant loans to do so - on the back of the Covid recession. Maybe he should have reined in building side until KP business picked up.

Abysmal buying has typified BR's time here. Fofana is the only successful transfer in. Now he's turned out to be a pot-hunting turncoat. Can we trust the money coming from Chelsea will be wisely spent? Will the players now identified as superfluous to the squad be moved on?

I have no faith that either will happen. Rodgers needs to go - there's no salvaging his rep. here. But he won't do so voluntarily.

City had achieved some stability but it's been undermined since Rodgers was employed. He's not entirely to blame, but he's allowed things to backslide. Effecting his exit will be extremely taxing.

Swallow some pride BR and drop Ward and Amartey

You're not wrong, but that still leaves us with a powderpuff midfield that can't pass and allows our defence to be got at too easily, and a trio of goal-shy strikers.  So don't expect us to go flying up the table just yet.

Luckily he has a strong group around him.

Tongue in cheek but that does show our fan base to be weak in numbers

Sky have an order of preference (which changes as the season progresses with league position)

Big 6

league position

number of casual ‘now tv purchases’ when club is on/ research into viewing numbers for specific clubs

if we are only on the min required times in a season then it shows we are more Bournemouth than newcastle/Everton

What're you dropping Ward for?

Other than one mix up with Fofana he's done nothing wrong and made some good saves.

He needs to make outstanding saves ……. he made one today ……but then it could be argued that he should have got something on James’ cross for their second

We were often praised from neutrals about how excited we were to watch.

Part of my problem with football at the moment is I think i've consumed too much over the years, I used to watch pretty much most games.

Along with a change within the game of incessant nonsense possession football the game is boring nowadays, there are a handful of teams who don't play that way, exciting teams and you know chances are it'll be a good game, I know many people who feel the same way.

Neutrals aren't excited by us, why would you watch a game involving us?

We're one of, if not the most boring team in the league.

I agree with the neutral bit.

Leeds under Bielsa we’re great for a few years.

Whichever way you look at it our club has not been run correctly, if it had been then we wouldn't be in a position of not being able to invest in new players.

This may well be Top's fault , the boards, Rodgers or any combination, but the bare fact is we are alone amongst the top divisions in Europe in not being able to invest.

I believe the current situation is the result of several poor decisions over the last few years primarily the crazy Rodgers contract and his awful recruitment.

It all reminds me of the very old and successful Barings bank which employed and subsequently gave far too much power to "talented" trader Mr. Nick Leeson,  his awful trading resulting in the bank folding.

These things can happen!

Get rid now

Has BR ever swallowed his pride? Ever?

Yes. Last season he dropped zonal marking. I think he’s been pi**ed about it ever since though.

I suppose if we had beaten Brentford and Soton at home we could have just about accepted the defeats at Arsenal and Chelsea. Trouble is we now just have a single point and look stuck in the clarts. You can bet goals like the one we had disallowed yesterday will be given on a regular basis

That really was an utter BS decision. Why does Barnes have to be penalised for Mendy being as weak as piss?
