cruzFOX Posted 12 March 2023 Posted 12 March 2023 Exciting for everyone else not involved in the relegation fight but is this the first season in a while so many big clubs are involved? It’s usually the premier league new comers that are struggling but not this season.

Free Falling Foxes Posted 12 March 2023 Posted 12 March 2023 Imagine in the final match, if we have a 5 minute wait for VAR to decide our fate over some borderline decision. I don't think I could stand it.

On 5live a few weeks ago, they were discussing the teams who might drop. We were not mentioned once!

That see us as little leicester that's had our moment in the sun. That's not a generalisation either. That's a conversation I've heard myself all season between people in and around the ground. Yet they demonstrate nothing of an underdog mentality. It's all a but weird

If they had kept dyche they never would have gone down That’s a very very distorted memory. They’d been dreadful for about 18 months beforehand and we’re going down with a whimper. They improved after Dyche went and it was only sacking him that gave them a fighting chance. Now they’re also going to come back up with ease. Go to their forums. Almost every Burnley fan, despite obviously loving him, accepted Dyche had gone stale and they did the right thing in sacking him.

Pundits who don't like us maybe thinking 'Hide Leicester'!

Don’t get the Dyche love at all Dyche got them relegated once before but they came back up and did alright in those 6 seasons considering their history before that. Clearly it had gone stale though. I don't know enough about Burnley other than maybe when we played them but it would be an insult to their fans who watch them to devalue their opinions. Which is what most pundits seem to be doing towards us this season.
Dames Posted 12 March 2023 Posted 12 March 2023 I think we are toast. Too many factors have been left in play for too long. Even a change in manager won’t be enough now.
StanSP Posted 12 March 2023 Posted 12 March 2023 Somehow still only 7/2 to go down on Skybet. Obviously was much higher a few weeks ago, but still good value.

We do have enough to stay up. Whether we will show it or not is another matter.

Stuart Pearce said exactly this on Friday. We have gone completely under the radar. l’m sure that will change soon enough unless they are blind. I put a few quid on us to drop just after Christmas, 6/1.

This is unfortunately very true. This side has every characteristic needed to succumb to relegation. Abysmal defensive record Injuries More points dropped from a winning position than any other team Once conceded unable to come back into a game Over reliance on one player to produce who’s already got an indifferent injury history. But the most alarming fact going into this run is this, in Brendan’s two first full season we went on two dismal runs at the back end of each of those two seasons which saw us relinquish two champions league places…. Brendan then seemed incapable of turning things around, and times were good then….. the squad was better, the mood was better and the prospects better, yet we still couldn’t turn the form around. So what makes people think now the chips are down and there’s a cloud hanging over the club that we can turn it around? He’s proven already he can’t, so I would love to know why the board have faith in him to do it this time? 1
foxfanazer Posted 12 March 2023 Posted 12 March 2023 Such a horrible season and it's actually turned me into a shit fan. I almost don't want us to get away with it 1
