Yes the problems run deep, governance and process HAVE to be investigated. Whelan isn’t picking Ward. Rudkin isn’t isolating Soyuncu. Who was undermining his playing squad in the press, refusing to learn from mistakes until additional resources were bought in (corners) Who pissed off the club captain so much he left? Rodgers was 100% of the issue DIRECTLY related to our players and performance on pitch. The other problem was Rodgers wasn’t let go when it was so clearly heading to this. Rudkin and Whelan have to be investigated but Rodgers is the biggest culprit by far in all of this. 8
kenny Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 Once tielemans and Maddison bought their kids onto the pitch before the match it was clear the rot was in. There is a massive systemic culture of poor performance amongst the club. Sean smith is clearly not strong enough to break that. Being relegated is an opportunity to reset and the club needs to decide what it wants to be. At the moment we are Blockbuster FC and living off what we were. It's a shambles.
Wymsey Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 Why is it just Leicester?.. Premier League champions. FA Cup triumph. The helicopter tragedy. Relegation, despite a decent-looking squad on paper.
murphy Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 We never do things by halves. When we were good we won the league and cup. Now that we're bad we have collapsed like a ton of bricks. This slow motion car crash was totally avoidable but I think most culpable of all are the players. There is enough talent there to have easily avoided this outcome even without a manager at all. My overriding emotions are anger, bewilderment, sadness with a bit of shame mixed in but above all disgust. I am absolutely disgusted with this team. A decade of growth to a status I would not have thought possible, just chucked away. We'll probably never get there again. 2

He was the reason, but Top and Co allowed him to get more and more control for worse and worse results so ultimately the responsibility lies with them.
Balj Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 Club didn’t realise we were in trouble when it was patently obvious we were many months back - too little too late. Board primarily to blame for this not helped by the lack of character in some of the players. 1

If you’re happy to clap on Rodgers all season, you certainly aren’t criticising Top, Lads I know have been assaulted today at the ground for booing. Same crowd. Happy for the club to wither.
foxsake Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 Alan Smith calling us a yo-yo team, we were in the Prem for 9 years your Brummie gimp.. 1

Which fans are toxic, the ones that saw the issues within the club and showed dissent, or the ones that clapped every week and had the same pathetic attitude as the players and management? The writing has been on the wall for a long time but too many long time fans were happy to clap the players off the pitch every week instead of voicing displeasure 2

Buzzell Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 Never in my life have I seen so many happy faces watching their club get relegated last game of the season. Some of our fans are laughable. 3
FrankieADZ Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 this for me, shows the lack of leadership we have at the top of the club, pardon the pun, its Vichal was alive for one Rodgers would have gone in October no shadow of a doubt the board, Rodgers and players are all at fault here

I don’t agree, at the end of the day Rodgers criticised the squad players last season and publicly said they weren’t good enough. At that point the board had two decisions they could have made 1) Sack Rodgers and get someone in that could get a tune out of these players or 2) back Rodgers and provide the funds for the rebuild he wanted. They decided to do neither and at that point they became responsible for what happened to the club. If Rudkin isn’t replaced we will not move forward and repeat the same mistakes. 1

urban.spaceman Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 Too angry to go into it right now but there's a huge swathe of financial cheating that's been endorsed by the Premier League that lead to this, not least the pending charge against Everton themselves. I'm kinda glad we're out of it but worry the EFL will be even worse. Not excusing the disgusting season we've had. But football in its current form is institutionally corrupt. 1
The Doctor Posted 28 May 2023 Posted 28 May 2023 9 points from 8 games, Smiths form was good enough for 13th but left that demented leprechaun in charge too long 2 1
