Popular Post tickler28 Posted 2 September 2022 Popular Post Posted 2 September 2022 (edited) The plastics who supported us because we won the league or the FA Cup or because we finished in the top 6 twice will slowly drift away and we'll be better off without them and their unrealistic expectations that we are gonna break the top 4.....reality has come back to hit us hard....its rough....it sucks but its still a lot better than most of us have ever experienced before. Popular Post Stadt Posted 2 September 2022 Popular Post Posted 2 September 2022 Do we even have any plastics really? It's not as if we're a Man United. We averaged 30k in the Championship in the early 2000s. 8

OwnGoal Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 You just can’t compete with the big clubs long term. Every single signing we make needs to be spot on. As soon as we sign a couple of duds we are in trouble. At least when it’s all over we can look at a trophy cabinet with three recent acquisitions in there. 1
don_danbury Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 is there really anyone who genuinely thinks top 4 is achievable? if there is, then they aren't plastics, they're just mental 1

We are lucky with this in that our moment in the sun completed the domestic set which is amazing really. 6
Gamble92 Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 I personally enjoy an African with a name like Patience Hope Success telling me if I don't personally go and tell Brendan to play Daka I will burn in hell with my family. 1

A bit harsh to all these people worldwide that started supporting us in 2015. All these people found something to believe, some of them they weren't even football fans, this team back then helped a lot of people by filling with joy and dreams some moments of their difficult day to day lives. We can't compare the plastic fans of other teams with ours. Will these ones lose interest now? Maybe, maybe not. It doesn't matter, get behind the team. We'll be fine.

David Hankey Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 No doubt the stadium expansion, if planning permission is ever given, will be put on the back burner whilst we in this parlous state.

ALC Fox Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 It's tough isn't it. Imagine where we'd be if we qualified for the Champions League two seasons running instead of missing out twice. Football is cyclical and we're on a slight downturn now. It just remains to be seen how that ends up, if we can stay in the division, cut the wage bill, refresh the squad and then make another assault on the top half of the league and challenge for a trophy again. It could take a few seasons and it definitely won't be with Brendan at the helm.

Great take. I don't see how this affects the regular match going fans who live near Leicester? It's actually those fans who live a lot further away that lose out because the chance to go to matches is far more limited and these 'plastics' take up seats. But that's the only negative? Otherwise it means more fans which equals more revenue for the club, broader global appeal etc. Plastic or not they are a necessary evil if we want to grow the club. Or maybe you're one of those strange fans who thinks we should never have any aspirations to do better. It's amazing that I can look back on us winning the PL, the FA cup and the European nights. Doesn't mean I don't hope for more of that success in the future. 2

The more people willing to give their money to leicester the better

Big clubs are full of mistakes. Nothing happens as money is endless for them.
MonkeyTennis? Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 Yep, its time to focus on our true enemy - other Leicester fans. The bastards.
Fear Of The Fox Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 These "plastic" fans after we won the PL kept on dreaming to achieve more as a team. We tried twice to break the top 4, we won the FA Cup, the Charity Shield and reached the semi finals of a European Cup. You know what also? Judging by the comments I saw today on BBC we have a good support of other teams fans that totally understand the situation.
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 Let's not catastrophies here. Things aren't great. But we could easily be on 6 points now and there would be no sack chatter. Just the normal grumbling
Finnegan Posted 2 September 2022 Posted 2 September 2022 (edited) Jesus fvcking christ the amount of melodrama. We have a manager who's gone rotten, it's normal, most managers don't really last more than a few years these days and Rodgers was always flawed - that's why he was at Celtic. He'll go, be replaced, we'll be back to normal. We have good owners, good infrastructure, we're looking to improve off and on the pitch, we've still got a pretty good squad the bulk of which have won the FA Cup, competed for CL places and played in Europe and a lot of our hangers on are running out of contract next year leaving us primed to properly spend, especially with our FFP nicely balanced out by a year doing nothing this summer. There's a shit tonne to be optimistic about and we'll be right back on it in a few weeks when he's inevitably gone. All of this talk about malaise at the club and our golden age being over is just Rodgers trying to save his reputation and his friends in the media helping him push that narrative because Leicester City going back in our hole is the best news the Big Six and their sycophants have ever heard. Fortunately for us we are far, far too well run and far too ambitious to wind up like that. We are here to stay and if you are one of the morons moaning about "the board" or "the owners" on here and buying in to the ridiculous notion that Rudkin and Rodgers haven't been backed then YOU are the fvcking plastics that can do one, not the fan base that has just naturally grown over the last few years that we should be pleased to have on board not being weirdly petty hipsters about.
