Utter numb nuts

Feel for businesses and staff whom will have been very reliant on weekend fixtures where they make more money over midweek

To be fair - the businesses will still get their earnings when the match is re-arranged.....so not a valid argument really.....

However a more pertinent argument would be of those who have lost money due to booking of Trains, buses, hotels etc. Hopefully they will all look at this and keep their original tickets and bookings valid for when it is rearranged for, I imagine they would on this occasion.

The businesses won’t - because on a midweek they don’t take nowhere the same money than do for a weekend fixture.

Rubbish decision indeed, totally unnecessary, could have paid respects at the game which more a fitting tribute than sitting on arses doing nothing or going down the pub!

As a mark of respect I'll now be wearing a black arm-band round Ikea

funnily enough I have chosen to wear black scrubs during the surgeries today  at the hospital at work..

I think it's more about a mark of respect rather than mourning. Basically you can do what you like apart from go to KP. Plenty of other things to do. Rescheduled nght match v villa always good.

Based on what? Not sure if there would be a huge difference to be honest except maybe Pubs. Food places presumably do better for evening kick off's?

What?! No they won’t. 100k’s of people who are free on a Saturday in September won’t all be free on a midweek in February. It’s a completely valid argument. This is guaranteed to incur significant loss

Why's everyone so mad about it?

Because they had just been given the ok for games to go ahead but called them off anyway

Outrageous.  A 96 year old dies of old  age and sport is cancelled.   So we can all sit at home.

Imo it would be better to have fans paying respect rather than have them feeling cross.

If course many at the pl sbd fa will be hoping for gongs in the future.

I am a Republican, yet i recognised the extraordinary  service of our queen.  While i may prefer a different system i respect her contribution to our national life.  I do not expect things to change in my lifetime.

However, i dont think banning sporting events will increase the goodwill to the remaining royals

Exactly when they intend to fit it in with an already packed schedule due to world cup god knows, and I was taking the nephew from Birmingham who won't be able to go in mid week. Even moved season ticket to family stand so I can't go if he doesn't! Guess I'll be relocating again.

So basically we're got to stay at home, shut the curtains and cry. I remember my gran passing away, three days after her passing there I was a Leicester game I attend for me I needed that for my escape and take my mind of what horrible week it been. That made a difference for me, if I stayed at home, I would have felt 10x worse. The queen as I say a special lady, respected but we didn't all know her personally.

You don’t understand why people aren’t mad, when I’m the middle of a cost of living crisis, people are told to still go to work but get their leisure activities taken away?

I don't think it's a huge deal that there's no football for a week. Especially a game where we're gonna get beat in our own ground in a relegation 6 pointer.

It's also very unsurprising.

Especially for what remains a rare Saturday 3pm kick-off...

I feel sorry for the people who have forked out for hotels and travel. In the current economic climate its a tough one to take. On occasions like this they don't have the fans interest at heart yet its the fans that are the beating heart of football!

imagine being upset about not getting to see us lose a game this weekend lol .

Gives then more time to work on Rodgers replacement. I reckon.

I can only imagine you don’t go to games. People are upset because lots of money and time with family/friends has now been lost

What better way for people who are, broadly speaking, pro-royal to pay tribute than a minute's silence at a football match. Daft decision.

Oh don't you worry Voll, we'll be sure be doing that, and the black armbands, as soon as us peasants are allowed to have fun again.

Some people do work on Saturday's too, plus like I said people more likely to go out for an evening meal than a Saturday quick sandwich pick up. Only business in my opinion that would suffer more so are pubs and bars.

Sit at home? There's more to life than football. Drown a maggot.
