I mean obviously they're going to meet Rodgers is the current manager.

Glover is probably smart enough to have say there nodding going "oh, yes, sure, mmmhmm, yes, definitely" knowing full well how likely it is Rodgers will be sacked soon.

This is a non story. Of course a new head of recruitment is going to meet with the current manager to discuss their visions for the squad.

Honestly if this man sold us Vestergaard for 15m, we're in good hands.

I think the bigger issue is that Rodgers had kept an eye on Vestergaard for a while as a target. Just like he had on Ryan Bennet. The best thing we can do is ignore Rodgers views on signings.

Don't forget he also offloaded Bertrand on to us and looked like he tried Bednarek / Elyounoussi as well good job we didn't have the money for them.

I can just picture it, like the unpopular kid at school who tries to cosy up to the new kid to form a friendship before the new kid realises their unpopularity/what a loser they are!

I don’t think he’d have any influence on players sold to be fair he’s head of recruitment so I’m guessing he’s the main man when it comes to the scouting system and the man who brings a list of potential targets to Rudkin/Brendan

He's sold him once, he can sell him again!

Bertrand was nothing to do with him or anyone at Sotton. He was out of contract and on a free. All down to Rodgers.

I'm glad he's arrived, However it's hard to see what he's going to do if we don't have money to spend.

I just hope we get back to doing our business quietly instead of being linked with everyone constantly.

As far as I can see (reading the reliable, educated articles as opposed to The Sun) we have money, we have money to sack Rodgers, and we will have a lot more room to maneuver end of the season when players leave on frees... Not making any money on those, is extremely poor on our part, but the wages drop alleviates issues around FFP.

It looks like we're going to have to reduce our Wage spending regardless to comply with FFP which makes sense.

Ordinary players are being paid too much. Only pay them more when they've earned it.

The FFP is a joke though. It can only see the gap between the big clubs and the others grow.

That's not conducive in levelling up the playing field. Surely the Authorities can see that. The same winners each year.

They need a radical plan that would balance out the league to make it more equitable. Like reducing the apending off the bigger clubs or taking revenue away from them and giving it to the others provided it's ringfenced for Team improvements.

... if we follow this idea to a logical conclusion, we would be emulating the American  draft system!!!

For some people that would be a move which would be welcomed, but for most, it would be hard to take on board when we have grown up on a David and Goliath system,  where there is a romantic notion of overcoming great odds.

Yes I totally agree with you but this is the dilemna. Currently the gap is getting wider between the big clubs and the rest.

When you go to games you like to think your team is in with a chance of winning, That's becoming less likely now.

I've always loved the Championship for that reason that teams were more evenly matched.

Many Fans are already getting disilluioned with the Premiership and you can see that with smaller crowds at some games.

It can be hard to convince yourself to spend 30 plus pds on a ticket etc if your club is playing one of the big Clubs knowing your going to get beaten also.

I'm not quite sure how the American system works but something like it is needed here. However I'm not sure how the powers that be can sell it to the bigger Clubs who have everything to suit them presently. FFP as it's structured currently is not the answer. Maybe it should only apply to the bigger Clubs. Then again common sense has to be used also.
