I like it. Maddison out wide and asking our full backs to play as wingers is killing us. Enough, Brendan!

Yes because that’s going to make the difference😂 give me strength

He’d certainly make a difference in that it would give the right back some protection and we’d stop getting destroyed there. And it would mean Rodgers would put a stop these incredibly idiotic and suicidal tactics of playing Maddison on the right wing and leaving the right back incredibly exposed as Maddison always plays centrally anyway.

We played our best football in 4231 last season, we absolutely don’t have to shoehorn Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall and Tielemans all into the same side just because they’re big names. All 3 have been crap bar 1 or 2 games this season anyway.

Bringing Albrighton or Perez in for one of Ndidi, Tielemans or Dewsbury-Hall, switching to a 4231 and playing Maddison central gives us so much more balance.

Totally agree. Been saying this to people for weeks. It's blindingly obvious. Against Palace, how is Castagne meant to defend against Zaha whilst simultaneously being our right winger? It's madness! Then you throw in our left back routinely being in central midfield because we think we can emulate Man City playing so called inverted full backs and it's no wonder we are getting killed down the flanks and the CBs are constantly isolated and getting pulled out of position trying to cover. Just play full backs as full backs and wingers and wingers with Maddison in his correct position as a 10. Round pegs in round holes, even if it means leaving out someone like KDH as a result. No point picking what you think are the best 11 players if it means shoehorning them into a formation that doesn't suit them.

Using the same players and looking for a different result is just crazy. We need a new approach if only to revitalise the players.

I'd use JJ and Timmy on the right were they can interchange and support each other on the right.

We know Thomas and Barnes can play together on the left. But Barnes has got to do more. He's coasting through games.

You could go with KDH instead of Soumare, But I think Soumare needs a run in the team to keep pushing him on.

KDH for all his effort is very limited skill wise, which is why I've went with Soumare, but it could be both.

Daka up top and Iversen in Goal. Ward has had his chance and failed. Iversen deserves a go and will give us more height in the Box.

If BR sticks with Ward he's looking to be sacked.

Id go with the following shakeup.

              Iversen

JJ  Evans  Faes Thomas

       Youri     Soumare

           Maddison

 Casragne  Daka  Barnes

To be honest there is no point picking the team as we know what Brendan will do and we know what the result will be! Nothing will change with him still in charge.

It's utterly ridiculous, in particular the club just acting like nothing is happening......

I'm gonna go for a wild guess of

Exactly the same team, exactly the same style. Then it's a 50/50 coin flip whether we score enough goals before Viera realises how easy Rodgers tactics are to nullify and beat.

I agree with most of your post.  Thing is getting sacked would give BR a huge payday and his stock is high enough that he could reasonably expect to get another well paid position, so it's possible that he doesn't care if he does get sacked.  Some of the substitutions and formation changes I've seen so far seem more like sabotage than management.

IMO the club need to use the squad a bit more, even if this means not starting with the "best" 11. Teams seem to know that if they are still in the game after an hour then can go on and beat us as our regulars start to fade usually leading to the midfield being over run and not covering with mistakes creeping in etc. Having quality like Youri, Barnes or KDH coming on later in the game from time to time might just give us the backbone to get stronger later in games. We have capable players like Praet, Peres, Albrighton, Ineanacho etc hardly getting a game and surely some are worth a punt from the beginning.

I'm guessing by the total lack of action by Top who is clearly softer than a sponge, we will have to endure BR for atleast another week. Another shit, limp performance, crap tactics, crap substitutions, another loss. Absolutely infuriating.

We'd get destroyed against a physical Palace side by starting Thomas, Braybrooke and Maswanhise all at the same time.

We'll get destroyed anyway. Soumare and Tielemans will be over ran and James Justin is having an absolute nightmare this season. This might be our biggest defeat of the season coming.

You're probably right - I don't think we'll cope well with Palace at all, but it wouldn't be fair on the paying fans or the young lads to put them out there in this situation. Not only that but dropping regular starters for those lads would probably dismantle any confidence/dressing room harmony that's left within the group.

If we're dropping players then it needs to be so the likes of Albrighton, Cags, Perez, Praet and Kel get chances.

I've completely lost track with the Soyuncu situation.  To me it's a complete waste of a squad player that a real effort isn't made to get him back to his old form, yet he doesn't even make the match squad these days.  The most obvious suggestion is that he & Rodgers have an irreparable relationship, and he's also fallen out with the club, but how has it come to this?  What a waste when we're in need of every bit of defensive quality we can get.

Also add that, even though only against Stockport, his only appearance resulted in a clean sheet (and after 120 mins, if I remember rightly).

Does anyone have any reliable information?

Think we need to double up down the flanks with Palace's tricky wide men so 3-4-2-1 is the way to go for this one IMO.

He wants to be sacked , maybe desperately wants to be sacked. His reputation will be protected by his many media friends , he will not worry about that. Its not going to happen until Top realises he has no choice. Top has no escape at all and will have to pay up.

I'd play Praet, Perez, Cags and Kel.  Give them some gametime. They must be chomping at the bit to play. Imagine sitting there watching that week in and week out from the bench.

Throwing academy players in when struggling is seen as a complete no no but I'm fascinated as to why, these players often play without fear and aren't as institutionalised to the very issues that have caused this significant decline.

It's seen as a complete "no-no" in any situation. I've seen excused concocted regardless of the scenario.

The right time is when the lads are ready to move the the next level. If Sammy isn't ready now then I don't know when he will ever be. It's not like he's going to grow a foot and put on 2 stone of muscle from this point on is it.
