I think that is easily achievable and would hopefully embarrass Top on tv too.

When you’re picking Soumare for energy then we have all manor of problems.

Has rather wasted his career in being at a club with little prospect of winning anything for too long,  imo.

To be fair to him he's a Palace fan isn't he? (Or have I made the up?). He's the main man there and probably earning a fortune. It's not all bad I spose! They look fairly decent this year too!

I suspect if things go badly the atmosphere will turn extremely toxic very quickly. It wasn’t going to be the case against United. Forest we won of course. I remember West Ham at home in February. 1-0 down and it was really close to breaking out, but we scored a peno and actually played quite well in the second half.

We’re a reasonably docile lot, but it’s very close to turning very hostile.

I doubt it.

Leicester must have possibly some of the most apathetic fans in the Premiership I imagine.

Look where we are now and has anything really been done concrete to protest against it.

Other than attendances being slightly down I believe?

This would have turned toxic in the 80’s and 90’s. I remember being at Filbert Street when MON was just a few games in and fans were spitting at him. That was bang out of order but that WAS toxic.

Now the grounds full of people who frankly aren’t really that bothered.

If City do go down this season, I’d imagine they’ll be the usual guff about ‘how we weren’t that good anyway’ or ‘we’ve had a good run in the Prem’.

All that bollox I suspect, which of course will just be another set of excuses.

...there must be a reason why Top has taken this attitude to the situation!!!

Q, He is waiting for the World Cup to end and employs one of the international team managers.

 A. That is far too risky, the season could be in an irretrievable situation by then and he would have committed the club to relegation. He also seems too relaxed for that to be the case and he would have to attempt to hide the fact from Rodgers in case he got wind of it.

Q. He feels he owes Rodgers the season as he assured him he would have the opportunity to bring in players but it did not happen.

A. Very much seems like that on the outside. Rodgers cannot do any wrong, Top seems comfortable showing no outward signs of despondency.

Q. We have no money to release Rodgers and to bring in a top-class manager, who we would have to poach to make the change worthwhile.

A. If that was the case then our results this season would have alarmed him and forced him to bite the bullet.

Q. So long as we finish above the relegation drop zone at the end of the season, we can complete the expansion and the other developments.

A. A bit risky, everything pointing at that not being able to stay above the trapdoor, we cannot guarantee the performances, we do not look much better than the others fighting down there.

The only real answer is that Top is giving him the season, it is either brave or foolhardy. It is a show of loyalty principle integrity and not least strength.

I do wish, however, that he would have chosen someone more deserving of such faith.

Currently contributing more than Tielemans though and defensive midfielder isn't his true position either. Tielemans has had his chance and his lethargy and giving the ball away is currently not working (as highlighted on motd).

The only good thing that can possibly come from this game is the massive points haul I'll get from Zaha in my FPL.

Imagine going into a home game vs. bottom half opposition with not even the slightest bit of optimism.

Me too hahahaha. I brought in Son and Jesus just before they played us, I have a feeling Zaha will pay off as well. I dread to imagine what Haaland will do to us soon if Brendan is still in charge. Triple Captain might get locked in

I’d be amazed if we got anything from this game, one of those teams along with West Ham that are too physical for a Rodgers team.

I might be wrong but Palace have never beaten us under Rodgers. They were our bogey side under Claude Puel for sure, hammered us 3-0, 5-0 and 4-1.

Can only see a loss.

I hate to say this but I think a thrashing needs to happen to get Rodgers out of the club.

It is hard saying that when you think the best thing for the club you love will be being battered.

I think you’ll be surprised. Obviously hope Saturday is the start of a run of 3 wins in 8 days, and the ship steadies a little, rendering this discussion somewhat irrelevant. Perhaps I’ll win £30 mill on the lottery too.

Tickets on general sale now.

West ham away on sale to all members.

People are starting to vote with their feet. Cheaper (marginally) to put the heating on and watch us get pumped at home.

Yeah you’re right actually just checked, we’re unbeaten in 6 v Palace, last defeat was 4-1 at home under Puel.

Genuinely excited to see how toxic it's going to be.

Don’t waste your energy.

I’ve had those thoughts and feeling ahead of every home game this season and well….:appl:

Meh.

On a whole our fanbase don’t have it in them.

So we spend all week training and playing against each other, the problem is we don’t have any big hard b****rds, so when we come up against them on a Saturday we can’t cope!
