Throwing academy players in when struggling is seen as a complete no no but I'm fascinated as to why, these players often play without fear and aren't as institutionalised to the very issues that have caused this significant decline.

it wouldn't be fair on the paying fans or the young lads to put them out there in this situation - will go toxic in the ground/destroy the young lads' confidence before they have had half a chance.

Not only that but dropping regular starters for those lads would probably dismantle any confidence/dressing room harmony that's left within the group - we don't need any potentially irreparable damage adding to the cause right now.

If we're dropping players then it needs to be so the likes of Albrighton, Cags, Perez, Praet and Kel get chances - these players would be pissed if youngsters got a chance before them.

Elaborated on my post there, I do agree with your reasoning for them playing too though, to some extent. I just wouldn't want to see it happen all at once, maybe minutes from the bench would be fair enough.

Don’t even know where to start right now…but here goes.

                     Iversen

Castagne Evans Faes Thomas

                     Youri

              Praet       KDH

                  Maddison

           Kelechi         Daka

May as well just try and score 5!

Isolating Castagne and Thomas up against Zaha and Eze is a big no-no in this game - we're going to need wide players.

Four-Two-Three-One, is what I'd go back too. It's the formation we played most during our best times under Rodgers.

Iversen

Castagne

Evans

Faes

Thomas

Mendy

Praet

Maddison

Albrighton

Barnes

Vardy

That's if Mendy is fit of course.

Praet deserves a chance.

Albrighton because he will work hard going back and help his full back. A toss up between Vardy and Daka, and would happily see Daka start too, but I just keep thinking Vardys due a goal, and then he will be on a run again. Daka has been one of the very few that can hold their head up this season though so far, and would rightfully feel hard done by to be dropped.

Oh finally, edited to say, I would put Ward at Left Back, left back in the dressing room, and would bring Smithies in as number 2 keeper for the bench.

Is Castagne fit for this one?

I hope so, as I wouldn't want Zaha up against an out of form Justin.

Although to be honest, Justin will probably be run ragged on the other side against Eze or Olise.

Thomas, as much as I think he's alright, is the worse option. That performance against Saka last season (?) still comes to mind.

I think the only way we overcome Palace is if we catch them on an off day.

Apart from Forest, we've got a sickening habit of needing to score more than 2 to draw a game, let alone win it. What a terrible state we're in. In a normal season, this run of games would have been seen as light relief after a tough start (on paper). Now it's genuinely difficult to see where we even stay in games, let alone do enough to win them and see ourselves over the line when the full time whistle goes.

Confidence and morale is totally shot for the players.

They played Eze and Olise as 8s at the weekend. We are just buggered defensively…and it’s Palace, god help us when we play Man City

I'm not going to get too hung up on the starting 11, it's the 11 that are on the pitch after Coco the Clown's 2nd half substitution masterclass that matters.

In every single pre match thread this season there are a lot of posts saying we need wide players. No, we don't need wide players, we need a low block to stop the defensive bleeding and preferably a diamond with Praet in. If Mendy is fit we need to go for a 4-1-2-1-2.

Have Castagne and Justin running up and down for 13km a game. If they can't do it cut their wages in half. I'm sick and tired of all this.

I agree with most of your post.  Thing is getting sacked would give BR a huge payday and his stock is high enough that he could reasonably expect to get another well paid position, so it's possible that he doesn't care if he does get sacked.  Some of the substitutions and formation changes I've seen so far seem more like sabotage than management.

I'm beginning to think he does want to get sacked which would lessen his reputationel damage.

It's the only logical reason for sticking with Ward, Not using Soyuncu when were leaking goals, and freezing out Perez, Praet, Etc.

His poor signings, Poor Tactics,Refusal to change, Poor Subs, Set pieces etc.

It's just bazaar from someone who is supposed to be a good manager.

I would go with this, but not KDH, he's been poor, he needs to up his workrate imo  that's where his quality lies

Vestegaard playing in the U23's, getting his fitness levels up I wonder?

How much fitness do you gain from picking the ball up out from your own goal lol

He did have an absolute nightmare but his last game he played for us he wasn't that bad. I thought on Saturday Evans looked slow and way behind the play, then I watched comments following the game on lcfc.com and Walshy picked our Evans saying he looked like he did when he knew his career was coming to an end.

I think we're desperate and in big trouble, the low block with Vestegaard maybe the way forward.

This post aged well. Evans may be passed his best but he's still miles better than Lurch, who's just been given the runaround by Fulham's young shavers.

Would have Soumare in for Tielemans who really isn't worth his lethargic place.

Anyone bothering to attend with an A4 Rodgers Out paper lazily waved at the beginning of the match? Or is that seen as unseemly?

I think that is easily achievable and would hopefully embarrass Top on tv too.

Well as they just lost 7-0 I guess he made a decent impression.

I can see this going exactly the same way it went against Bournemouth, except Palace are slightly better than Bournemouth, so for that reason, Palace 4 Leicester 1, the Foxes, having dominated the first half, go 1 up, Palace equalise in injury time first half, then get 2 more second half, after we totally collapse and concede 2, in quick succession.  Brendan then brings on Senior Man with 8 and half minutes left, we then concede again injury time at the end, its predictable now, hopefully I'm wrong though...

Fair play. Guess I’m just desperate for us to have something positive. This does defend Rodger’s perspective though, we are so short of options it’s criminal.

Zaha could play on his own and still spank us. Can't wait.

Has rather wasted his career in being at a club with little prospect of winning anything for too long,  imo.
