Now Barnes and Tete have that direct pace on the wings it frees up Iheanacho to drop deeper which suits him.

 

If Perez or Albroghton played then you'd need Iheanacho to be much higher up the pitch and that doesn't suit him.

 

So long as Barnes and Tete start, Iheanacho has to start as well.

Legend. Finally recognised by Rodgers, albeit years late. Since being our top scorer two seasons ago despite starting only a handful of games, he has been consistently scoring or assisting, the best in the team in a per minute basis. 3 goal contributions last game and another 2 today. So happy for him. Sign him up long term before other teams finally realise what a player we have on our hands.

 

If Rodgers had not been as stubborn and played our savior much earlier, our season would not have been as bad.

Many have said it and known how he should be played. 5 games, 5 goals, 3 assists in the last 2. 12 goals previously in less than half a season previously. What doesn't Rodgers see?
