What a good performance! Did the basics right and, I felt we controlled most of it.

Madders - excellent. He shouldn’t just be in the squad, he should start for England.

Ward - so much criticism for him early on but I’m starting to feel “safe” with him in goal.

Faes - very good game.

Tielemans - screamer.

He does the things Schmeichel didn't, leaving his line for starters. Now he's added basic shotstopping to his game.... (Ward that is)

Although we all know superwout plays a big part in this also for the confidence he gives.

With Faes leading them. Ward and Amartey look like Courtois and Marquinhos <3

Missed most of the first half because at work but managed to find a quiet place until Youri scored I think most of the hospital heard me after that goal!

Thought we were immense at times still a few silly mistakes, defensively we have come on in leaps and bounds we were stopping everything Everton threw at us, and this set piece coach has certainly fixed our leaking corner defences another clean sheet from Wardy too not long ago most of us were saying he needed dropping but he has been a beast between the sticks his presence in his area is top quality and his shot stopping another Level.

Wout Faes is a beast and has been one of our top performers who has quality written all over him his tackles passing headers ball control is quality and he commands defence organising his back line like a seasoned pro what a future captain this lad will be.

And what can we say about our Talisman James Maddison the guy has got to be on that plane to Qatar and if he’s not then Southgate needs psychiatric help Madders can change a game in seconds his movement off the ball his spacial awareness where other players are is amazing another 2 assists definitely was a MOTM performance Southgate has to take and play Madders in this years World Cup, up to 13th place now I told you lot we’d be fine 😉😉

We’re actually playing quite well now.  Could have scored six in that one. Defence much improved with Faes, and perhaps some different coaching? Still the occasional lapse, but vastly better.

Rodgers in?

Such a shame we’re going to lose our two best players (Maddison and Tielemans) at the end of the season, probably for not much money. Both players have come on hugely.

And what a turn around for Danny Ward. Now looking a proper EPL keeper. Very pleased for him

1 goal conceded in 5 games and that was world class.

Fantastic win and could have been a few more!

i.e. when he plays with Amartey

Jonathan Pearce MOTD commentary on the Tielemans goal was lacklustre, he sounded almost disappointed.

Not sure he would have started if Peart was available

Sadly, he would have been a great rhythmic force for us. I somehow doubt we'll ever see him again...

...why was this an acid test!!!

Because Everton are currently about the same level as us, so losing to Everton would really have caused a major stir…. However, we turned up, and comfortably beat them. So to me, is proves that things are on the up………

Great result, table looks better but Everton are clearly a team struggling to score. We were under the cosh a deal in the 2nd half, gave the ball away too easily and had to defend (thankfully we do that better now). They controlled the midfield for large periods of the 2nd half. To state the obvious, a better team than Everton would have capitalised. We needed Barnes' goal to secure the game. Any manager, and ours particularly, would be concerned about our loose passes etc. Stuff to work on.

I'm really pleased though; we've made a huge improvement, we look a much more confident and stable side now. I hope we can maintain that trajectory. WHam will be another good test of where we're at.

The absolute confusion that is Leicester Coty under Brendan Rodgers continues.

A few weeks ago, we looked shite.

Tonight, THAT was a bit of a managerial master-class again

🤷‍♂️
Best win of the season that for me

I think that pretty much sums up about 13 teams in the league to

be honest.

Top 6 or 7 aside we’re all up and down, just happens that our down was at the start of the season.

Was at a bonfire event tonight, but it appears I MISSED THE FIREWORKS ON THE PITCH GET INNNNNN MATHFACKERS.

Was also supposed to be at a fireworks event, but let the family go without me so I could watch the match. Good job we won as I’m in the doghouse!

If my maths are right, regardless of what happens against West ham, we won’t be bottom 3 going into the world cup break. Nice small victory there!

edit: maths is wrong, bournemouth would have to beat everton by a smaller margin than west ham with us

West Ham are not as strong as last season imo and are again beatable like Everton yesterday, a point would be decent but I think we can win this.

I'll be surprised if Southgate changes his mind, Madison is on fire at the moment, Southgate sticks to his favourites.

Oh he will TAKE him little doubt,  I'll make a bet he PLAYS him no more than 20 mins in the whole crappy tournament, and then in a match thats already won or more likely the last 5 minutes of a 3 - 0 pasting when the favourites have failed.

The dour, talentless Southgate would play Maguire as a creative mid - cos he "trusts him" - rather than the brilliant Maddison!

Expect to see Grealish and Sterling playing too... Hopeless.

Nice to see us counter attacking at pace.

Yes, we made good use of the ball on a couple of occasions; pleasing to see. Everton over committed in the middle and once past that block we moved the ball quickly.
