Before people start putting the boot in on Thomas before he's even been picked, let alone played, it's worth pointing out that him playing with Faes next to him could be substantially different to him having to cover the left with an off form Soyuncu there. 

 

Faes' leadership and guidance could be exactly what he needs.

The thing I really will give Brendan credit for recently is that we've looked to kill games off rather than sitting on a goal lead. We've rode our luck at times but we seem far more proactive and confident in ourselves. Hope we take that into this game

This round of fixtures will be so weird for all teams because of the ridiculous World Cup later in the month. Will players go into 50/50s? Some will but some won't for obvious reasons. Sadio Mane just dropped out of the world cup today, highlighting the risk of getting an injury right now. Especially if it's your last chance of playing in the competition. 

 

The most likely affected players are our Belgians, Paqueta and Rice for West Ham and Maddison. This could entirely change the dynamic of the match!

 

Maybe we should just play jobbers like Perez and Albrighton and just tell them to get stuck in at every opportunity! I honestly think we could win the game just because key players won't fancy it lol

Our players don't go in for 50/50s anyway.

Evans and Faes will probably be the first choice pairing at some point but Amartey has earnt his place so should keep it for this game.

Surely Evans and Faes are his first choice full stop, so if Evans is fit (or at least as fit as Evans ever is) he'll be straight back in?

Let's hope not because Maddison and Youri performing are about our only chance of winning any games :D

Tough place to go, I think West Ham will want to put right the last loss and finish above the relegation zone before the break.

 

We are now much better than at the start of the season and seem to have found our groove, shame we are going into a 7 week break!

 

1-1. Would be happy with a draw here considering we beat Everton.

Moyes has absolutely bossed Brendan in our recent games against them. Unless Brendan has wised up I can’t see past another humiliation. 
 

They will do us physically I think.

I'd consider KDH at left back rather than Thomas. Combative, pacy, can tackle and get forward

That way we don't have to destabilise right back aswell as left back.

What you don't do is have your CBs on the halfway line , Antonio can still outrun most defenders. However faced with a compact and organised defense , the Hammers soon run out of ideas. We only need a couple of chances and we get a result.
