A confidence player, in the form of his life, just selected for the World Cup does not ask to be rested.

And neither should Brendan allow anyone to be rested…

They have been selected to play for the country on the basis of how they’ve played for LCFC, we pay their wages.

Our best players will be playing.

Maddison will be buzzing to prove to Southgate now he’s in the squad, why he should be starting.

He will start, he will score and he will assist - FPL players give him the armband - this will be a masterclass

I think West Ham have two players who are involved in the WC who will be playing 

 

we could have up to six. 
 

Pros will usually have a super competitive instinct that won’t allow them to take a step back. We were always taught that not going in 100% was more likely to lead to an injury

That’s a good point. I’ve listened to a few podcasts this week previewing the fixtures this weekend and saying it could be quite odd as some players might not be quite at it and, for example, pull out of 50/50s with the World Cup a week away on their minds. It’s a round of football unlike any other ever.

 

It’s a shame the Czechs didn’t qualify and I’m tempted to put money on Bowen scoring.

Our club is in a high, Rogers is on a high, we the fans are in a high and madders is on cloud 9 high! He will be buzzing to play and so he should.
 

in general If you start worrying about getting injured you probably will. Can’t play with fear. Of course it’s not like this game is a cup final either so have to be sensible too. Rogers will sub madders out 2nd half after he’s done some damage to the hammers.

Oh fgs, when he was in the side last season he drew loads of criticism on here, and rightly so. He may have to be played, so let's hope his play has matured and is more effective than he was last.
